Yeah, After thinking about it, I may just try and design a bomber instead. But an air search RADAR system for our sparrows., Who thinks that it's a good idea?
In theory, it is. On the other hand, our current RADAR installation weighs forty tons. I believe it's pretty unlikely we get one small enough to fit into one. A bomber, possibly.

Eh, it's a long haul of a project. But it should be worthwhile if our fighters can find the enemy while they cannot see us.

Can I just point out Gamma.1 has a slight flaw?

Say of all vehicles designed 12 gets the most votes but 12.1 gets more. 12.1 will be ignored because 12 auto passes by having the most votes even though a modified version is more popular.

No, it would still work on the modified project, since it has the most votes and is above the threshold to be worked on. The general idea of it is to make sure that neither large slot goes wasted.

TBF the vehicle qualifying under Gamma.1 would be the Albatross.

There's a difference between a modified proposal, and a modification of a already existent craft. The first would get through, the second, would not.

Thanks for pointing out the possible confusion there though.

Yeah I think I read it wrong, but either way it seems like a bad idea.

A good modification can be just as useful as a new design.

On the other hand, a modification doesn't use the whole design team. That's the idea behind the proposals for me.

Maybe but squeezing out projects that got more votes does kind of go against the basis of the game.

Except for the fact that this keeps us developing newer large projects rather than squandering them.

But nothing says that new project will be more effective or more useful then the modification would be.

we can always repeal that if we feel that it doesn't feel useful. For now, it makes sure that we pump out new designs every turn, and while they might be big white elephants or whales, for some they are !!FUN!! nonetheless, and it keep design team downtime down.

here is a question: If there is a RL thing that according to history was sold to people at the time can we buy it and use it?

Because if we did make LORAN than I want one that is less crap.

I suppose so. You're a communist nation however, so trading partners are limited.

Also note that Loran is a system that was developed after the second World war.

The navigation thingy is your version of the Knickebein. The related navigation aid is a simple Lorentz beam.

Quite surprised that new engine for fighters is not popular enough
