Ok, good. I'm retroactively accurate.

As for the engine depends on how much priority you want to lay on it. Development of a new engine complete with vehicle could work.

@Pat, UR: Scrapping them for machine guns results in a production of ca. 340 sparrows instead of 225 for next turn. So we'd basically trade 305 Ravens for 125 Sparrows.
Well, considering our problems with petrol, that looks like viable decision ( and my pilot from the story supports it), but problem is that we need numbers, we need patrols. I don't want to be left with 87 fighters when we still need to hunt for enemy torpedo bombers and large scale biwing attacks... If that process will be slow as Sparrows replace Ravens in squadrons, not one large scale disbanding of all of our Ravens from service I agree

What kind of aircraft will we design this turn?  I don't really don't know what we need here. Long range bomber is interesting, but with their 2 engined fighters that looks like a risky option...

I'd say designing a new engine of the same dimensions as in the Sparrow and Osprey to upgrade them, and maybe a patrol bomber to hunt single targets?

Oh, and for the Raven retirement, how about we take off the machine guns and leave it as a training plane for now (though I don't know how that's modelled in game and may have the same effect as just scrapping them)? And, I'd exchange them on a squadron per squadron basis, meaning we keep the number of planes constant.

I've got a couple of proposals up, two of which should help us keep dominance over the skies. Feel free t state your opinions on them.

We only need 16-32 for training and 100 for patrols.

We should at least scrap half of them right away. The sparrow fighter can shred there old ones and already has the numbers to beat the new one so 150 ravens is plenty of support and still allows us to save fuel which we really need to do.

If we can lighten the 300mm gun, then we can use it on cruisers more effecintly.

It's too large to be mounted on a cruiser Urist, we're going to need a smaller gun. A much smaller gun.

@Taricus: We could try mounting the 30mm cannon instead of the machine gun in the two-engine bomber for a better anti-tank fighting power. Other than that, it looks good in my opinion.

What we currently need most for fighters is probably a new engine. By the way - engine specialist next turn?

We only need 16-32 for training and 100 for patrols.

We should at least scrap half of them right away. The sparrow fighter can shred there old ones and already has the numbers to beat the new one so 150 ravens is plenty of support and still allows us to save fuel which we really need to do.
Unless we gain additional resources from scrapping them, I'd still leave them intact. As long as we don't use them, we don't really use fuel. But that's probably not important right now.

A few things kept me from doing that. The first was the fact that the 30mm is unreliable, and I'd rather not bog down our production lines with such a weapon. If it's refined at a later date, I may agree to a variant that uses it as a primary armament for use as a heavy fighter.

Disarming the ravens is probably what we need to do with them. After the guns are off, we can either keep them, sell them off to other nations, or give them to our farmers as aerial application craft.

Hmmm, yeah that works. Pull the guns though it saves us some material since we have to build less.

Suggestion Two: Twin-engine bomber (Large): A new design proposal to help keep our bomber losses down, as well as provide some close air support to our ground troops with some modification, able to exchange torpedoes for standard bombs and vice-versa. Also mount a single 15mm MG (Slash autocannon) in the nose, and a pair of 8*54mm MGs on the rear for it to be able to defend itself.
Dislike that a lot. Osprey mark two... if we make a bomber, than high attitude one, to bomb enemy production lines, especially their docks

On 30mm gun... I think it's good only for ships, where this short lifetime is not that important, but in short it's a failed design...

I want to propose a new kind of ship, 400 tons (to make it producable on our smallest docks) with large coal fired (like 200tons) steam engine, light AA protection a lot of short range torpedo tubes and several long range ones, to replace Piranhas in their role without eating our petroleum away.

4000t cruiser armed with at least two 300mm guns is another thing that we need now... Heavy for a cruiser, but if enemy managed that, than we can, too...

Err... The weapons alone would be almost half the remaining weight, and with coal? Yah, no way that will work.

I want a smaller fighter with 10mm guns.

Something that can easily out maneuver the enemy fighter in a dog fight. The sparrow can support it with it's heavier guns.

My new ship does mount 300mm guns and a large amount of 80mm gun along with a lot of 30mm guns for AA.
It is still not done as it need the armor for the main guns working out

No, the sparrow's armament is good. An update to it's ammo and it'll be carving through the enemy airforce. I will state that there should be a moratorium on the 30mm gun until the problems with that are fixed

@UR: Mind stating what you dislike about the twin-engine bomber exactly? And please, put it in as much detail you can, that means I can edit various things about the proposal so that said problems are fixed.
