((For searching for chemicals, should I give a list of ones I'd be interested in finding, or let you supply me with whatever you'd like?))

Gesture for the woman to get out of the way. Then gesture for her to follow you down the corridor. Check for unlocked doors on the way.

Ooh, nice gun. Pick it up, then check my pockets to see if I have anything of note in them.
The moment your hand touches the gun, it goes off, firing quite loudly.

Check what chemicals are available!
You trot down into the lab, and look around for any interesting chemicals. You pass by a stone slab complete with wires and things while you collect....what chemicals were you looking for again?

Gesture for the woman to get out of the way. Then gesture for her to follow you down the corridor. Check for unlocked doors on the way.
[?] She moves when you finally work up the gumption to just walk around her, but when you curl your finger to let her know she should follow, she gives an exasperated sigh. When you try to check for unlocked doors she slaps your hand and exclaims "Where have your manners gone you strange man?? You don't just barge uninvited into peoples rooms! I'll lead you down to the front desk since you seem to be confused." Afterward she continues muttering to herself. They don't sound very kind.

How quaint. Skin-melting, you say? Well, continue not really caring. Open the window.
As you deftly avoid any emotional response, you move to open the window when suddenly there is a very loud bang. It sounded like a gunshot.

Examine surroundings
You awaken on a steel treaded floor without a pillow or anything to rest your head upon. When you look up you notice a capacitance cell. You must have dozed off while working on it. The room mostly consists of various technological doodads, all seeming to deal with some form or another of energy dispersion. There are exit hatches on the walls to your left and right. As you rise to start moving, the overhead lights switch on, allowing you to properly see all of this without straining your eyes.

Look for Ammonium Nitrate, Sulfuric acid, and Toluene. Alternatively, if this is more of an inorganic lab, ferric oxide and aluminum.

((So your looking for "Explodey/poisony" things and not "Chemicals to make the perfect smoothie" :P))

Listen in. What can I hear, what can I smell? Wonder if there's going to be another gunshot. Stand to the side of the door that is farthest from the knob.

Well none of those are explosive by themselves, but yes, explodey.

"Shit!"

I try to figure out why the gun went off despite the fact I barely touched the trigger, then go root around in my pockets for any objects. Maybe check the door to see if anyone's coming up.

Hint: iron + aluminum + know how = thermite.

Check capacitance cell is actually fixed. If so, wander down the hall casually. If not, start fixing it -these things are really important!

((Actually you didn't touch the trigger at all. You pretty much just lightly tapped the side and BOOM))

(Okay, then just figure out why it went off.)

Look for Ammonium Nitrate, Sulfuric acid, and Toluene. Alternatively, if this is more of an inorganic lab, ferric oxide and aluminum.
[1] As you search the lab for implements of rapid energy dispersal you come across what you judge to be the most powerful chemical force in the entire universe.

Baking Soda and Vinegar.

"Shit!"

I try to figure out why the gun went off despite the fact I barely touched it, then go root around in my pockets for any objects. Maybe check the door to see if anyone's coming up.
After loudly exclaiming your distress, you examine the piece closely to try and find the reason for its sudden outburst. After a thorough check you find no real reason for it to have done that. You carefully touch it once more and it doesn't fire again.
After your examination of the gun you root around in the pockets of what you just now realize are grease covered jeans. In one of the pockets you find a roll of hundred dollar bills and in the other you find a swiss army knife.
Finally you check the door, and notice that despite the fact that the gun was facing the door when it went off, there are no bullet holes, gunpowder burns or other markers that would show where the bullet had hit. In fact as you do a cursory examination, you realize you cannot find the bullet anywhere around, nor any signs of where it would have contacted.

Ignore the woman. Leave the hotel.
You decide that the best course of action is to ignore the angry lady and get the hell out of dodge. You have important things to do...like not listening to her.
She seems to protest at first but then just lets you leave after huffing and apparently getting sick of you.
You begin the journey down a few flights of stairs and arrive in the lobby before you realize there is actually an elevator. Well shit.
There is a teenaged boy with some piercings behind the front desk looking through a magazine and a few people going about their own business. There is also a Continental Breakfast arranged in the next room over for the guests.

Check capacitance cell is actually fixed. If so, wander down the hall casually. If not, start fixing it -these things are really important!
Judging that the state of the device you briefly noticed is far more important than your latent narcolepsy you check to make sure you left everything correct. You find that there was a few loose wires left but overall the cell was in working order. After fixing up those wires you shuffle over toward the first hatch you saw, the one on the left. You open it and walk into the room beyond. And then you start floating.

Listen in. What can I hear, what can I smell? Wonder if there's going to be another gunshot. Stand to the side of the door that is farthest from the knob.
You immediately perk up and sneak over toward the door. You press your ear against the far edge of the door and hear a mans voice utter an obscenity. That noted, you begin sniffing at the air to try and ascertain more information. Your nose is suddenly drowning in the scent of motor oil.

Check if I am actually dressed. If not, wonder where I could find some clothes. If so, check what sort of clothes I'm wearing.

If not completely naked after this check, go exploring out of the room.
