Cleaning

Well, my fortress is covered in blood. I put a couple of pesants on cleaing-only; no other jobs... and uh, nothing's happening; is there something I'm doing wrong, or is cleaning just messed up?

Cleaning doesn't take that long, it's just that if you have many dwarves all tracking blood everywhere, it'll spread faster than it can be cleaned.

I had this problem too, even when setting someone to just Cleaning alone. It spread quite a lot (60+ dwarves all working West of the river), but eventually it started getting cleaned.
