So 1/3 of the party is basically out ? Well. How do we play, do we play at 5 only and with one GMcontrol when Rem isn't here ?

Maybe we should allow the new guys who want to play some play and characters...
Or maybe we could "Lease" absent characters to new interested people, so they can get a feel for the campaign?

But then out-of-context things and stuff.
Yeah, won't work too well. Either a permanent substitution or just GM-played. OR, we could take load off GM's shoulder and play the absentees... dibs on Kangur, my ol' buddy.
Sure, you can play me. Just follow this list of compulsory restrictions.

No, you will try to kill him. Try and play the bard instead.

We could play the absentees, but then again there are these guys who are willing and near-ready to play.

Permanent substitution is pointless since we'll still have holes quite often. Nah, just allow them to play when there are holes in the permanent party roster.

That's implying the new players are OK with that.

Reposted for convenience.
They include: Always respect the Legion of Doom, do not commit crimes, do not attack party members, heal party members and only party members, use the Shield of Faith spell only on party members and only in combat settings (Which includes not using it to heal), heal the casters first, do not drop the tower shield, do not drop the weapon, only attack with spells and my non-natural weapons, do not willingly eat attacks of opportunity, do not act suicidally, do not willfully lower Kangur's armor class, do not act overly confrontationally. always be armed and armored, always be on guard, and do not kill undead not hostile to Kangur. That should about cover it.

Naryar's sudden disappearance killed our session. Three party members absent.

We really need more solid regulars! Are any of the applicants still interested and determined to attend weekly sessions, eh?

Bah, I'll return next session for sure. Certain Life Problems mean I will have literally nothing to do next Saturday other than sitting at home.

Just had a thought - those guys in limbo could be used as our cohorts in the future, should someone take leadership feat.

I would have liked nothing more than to play, but internet connection decided otherwise. And it was about midnight.

Shouldn't be a problem during the next three weeks though.

Edit: Well, connection has failed again. It's now the second time on the weekend.

Maybe I should call the guys who are responsible for this internet...

Edit: Connection's still fucking kidding with me, yeah I'll be calling them and trashing them soundly.

After some sleep, I started to wonder if I could have used Cleave on Astalinn and his mount...?

If you attacked as a full-round action (not a charge or a move-attack), then you can.

Edit: So, on the missing players, what do we do to avoid these things ?

We could either keep the current player roster but with reserve characters, or even reserve players with new characters... or something.

What...? But Cleave is a standard-action feat - if I hit the first target, then I can make an attack on another adjacent and within range. Or you are talking about different kind of attack?

I do not get the point of reserve characters for current player roster? GM won't carry on the session if there are only three out of six players present, doesn't matter how many characters they control at once.

And reserve players won't work too well - they would have to reserve time for six-hours session on saturday-evening they might or might not participate in. Hardly fair or feasible.

Ultimately the success of weekly sessions depends on whether individual participants can live up to the their promise of participation on a regular basis. If someone is either missing out too many sessions or can't focus during them, then he spoils the fun not only for himself but also for everyone else. He should just step down in favor of someone more active and dedicated.

No problem. Still wondering if I can count the mount and rider as two separate and adjacent targets for sake of Cleave.

Stop complaining about not destroying everyone easily enough, at least you managed to hit something.  :'(

fakeedit: Rider is considered to cover all the horses tiles, so I guess you could.

It's a shame Rolep missed the session since there was literally no combat to speak of, only social. Lady-bard would have been in their element for once.
