I'll play if there's room. No idea what, yet.
Perhaps a druid, in a lovely shade of purple.

The more I think about it, a band of Small chaotic good/chaotic neutral adventurers striving to save the world while being mistrusted and reviled by 'civilised' people seems more and more fun. Plus if the party subsists on stealing it'll be even better!

In general, having any single player be evil can really complicate things more than it should - most times more annoying than the fun it gives.  Especially goblins, kobolds, or other 'vermin races' who might not be allowed past the town guard, it just becomes a hassle of 'alright, we need to go to town.  Let's spend 30 minutes debating how to hide him and not let him talk to anyone in town and not participate in any of the RP.'  And even outside of the city, there come the annoying parts of "I want to eat him" and "I'm just gonna torture my fellow party member a -little- with a knife" and whatever that every evil character eventually ends up doing and just making the rest of the party uncomfortable and un-fun.

REALLY as so many will say, if you're just starting out then keep it simple.  Play a non-multiclass neutral good character as that class is meant to be played.  Greataxe barbarian, tower shield fighter, longbow ranger, full plate cleric, unarmed monk...  These classes can be PLENTY fun and there's nothing wrong with them if you're playing right.

One of my favorite characters I've been playing with a local group is a bard with absolutely zero combat potential.  The best I've got is Grease and Glitterdust, but it's so much fun to just faff about while the party is doing something serious.  I have no crazy skills or multiclass or any min-maxing, but it's a -fun- character to play.  And a lot of time pure classes can be challenging, as you have to know your roll and how to play it, instead of trying to do everything with one character.  A barbarian is a lot more interesting to play when you have to pick your targets, know where the archers are, and avoid spellcasters, instead of some multiclassed barbarian cleric who can just wander in and just hitting the closest thing.  If combat is that simple for you, then it's really not much fun to play through.

There is a way to alleviate that; have EVERYONE be a 'vermin race' character! Instead of fighting that band of kobolds in the dungeon, make nice with them and help them get back at the villagers!

Which is probably a more complicated campaign than noobs should attempt.

Eh, when it comes to roleplaying, I like jumping into the deep end. It's more fun and usually funnier.

Well, perhaps you do- if this is a party-wide thing, perhaps it'd be best to wait for everyone else to speak up as to what they want to do. :P Especially the GM who'd have to work all that into a campaign.

Me, I'm okay with whatever, really. As long as things don't get too confusing mechanics-wise...
I've played a bit of PF before, but I'm not exactly an expert.

I'd only go Gobbo if the party and GM were okay with it of course, it's just that I enjoy playing the cunning little guy.

Hey again guys...
Just want to say something about what program to use...

I personally use the Maptools with my crew, with some great resources both freely and cheaply available to download and use to build your maps you can create anything from module to even hand made maps quite easily depending on how you want to go about it.
Many Mapsets for building the dungeons are easy to find and download for free where you can build maps quickly with drop and play styled map pieces or with a little time and patience you can create fantastic looking caves or dungeons. My only complaint is that sometimes you just can't find that exact looking tile peice which fits your chosen storyline, like a damn medieval farmplot for large farms for your players to fight on... FFS that is my only want right now...
Many of the character and monster tokens are easy to find too, add in things like Monster Manual img files and you can make some epic looking things with some nice pics for your players to use to fully visualize the monstrosity approaching them. Nothing says Owlbear more then a large token of one and a kick arse looking pic to go along with it. One of the best Token maker is that of Devin Night (prob wrong spelling or even combination) who makes fantastic topdown character/monster tokens to enjoy and use, most are actually free but you can get more from his website if you google him and there is a ton more with only a 5USD pricetag for around 15-25 tokens each pack all hand drawn and everything (Well worth the investment if I say myself)...

Heres and example of a Dungeon from the DM's view. Just hand built then and now and prob took me like, 20mins if anything of fiddling and finding the right items...

As you can see I have built a simple little level. 4 Adventurers, Cleric, Warrior, Rogue and Wizard, have come down to this level, found themselves face to face with two Skeletal Warriors, but behind the Brazier near the stairs is a hidden door (which I don't think really matches and wouldn't use that tile to actually present to the players). Behind the Door is a passage to Treasure :P
After they clear that first room of the skeles they will find Zombies in the next room...
After they clear them, if anyone would stick their head down the well, they would discover the Squid Monster waiting, for the players view though, the Squid isn't visible until revealed with a simple switch of "Layer"...
Thinking about how hard it is to see the Zombies with this tileset, I would prob put a special "Halo" on the tokens so they are a lot more easier for the players to see...

Heres what the players would see when the server and map is set up right...

Play a Bard or Rogue instead of a Goblin.  Both classes get pretty sneaky and fun abilities, and are expected to be 'slightly evil'.  A well-developed bard can sneak into anything, past any guard, and then exit with a musical number.

I know, it just doesn't have the same feel as a kobold or goblin. I just really like those two races.

If your having problems using map tools follow this...

Locate - Launch MapTool-1G-Memory.bat
Rightclick > Edit
Replace All text with this...
Code: [Select]
VERS=1.3.b89
javaw -Xmx1024M -Xss512K -jar maptool-1.3.b89.jar run

They stuffed up the coding with the original stuff, the original code doesn't read correctly for some reason on most PCs. Once you do this though, just run Maptools through the same Bat File every time. Takes little more then a few seconds of your time and unless your completely computer illiterate, you shouldn't have too much trouble...

This is why we use roll20.  It's infinitely more simple and requires no fucking about with obscure settings or server setups.
