Hey lads, I would be interested in joining your campaign as a regular (really, a solid regular! Andrea could attest). Preferably as a barbarian, but could try a different class depending on what the party needs.

You need to have at least 14 strength and levels in a melee fighter class, is what you need.

Did we advance in level again after the last session?

My barbarian perfectly fits the bill - he's got 18 + 2 racial strength for whooping 20. His light load is probably as much as the bard's heavy load!

Hey, we leveled up only 2 sessions ago. To be honest, I think we'll level up in 2 sessions. Unless we get good bonus xp for completing the quest, even then...

Although I wouldn't be bothered with faster leveling at all.

Also we're 6 atm - Medlain is still playing, so I don't think there are more places available.

also I'm keeping an Enlarge Person ATM - and I am thinking I will cast it on Kangur for 15-20ft reach + combat reflexes hilarity.

And strength 20 has a light load of 133, so it's much higher, so hah! Not the same!

Edit: Daethwin weighs like 230 pounds at most, with all of his gear. So some of you guys could probably carry him around as a medium load. What's the rules on that, Shooer? Can I just ride on someone's shoulders and shoot things with my crossbow?

If you have enough strength, you should be able to set up a fortified sniping post (With a ballista), which is what I was doing when the game was originally set up. If you have some LA to work with, you can get your character up to a light load of half a ton or more, then set up a base on him for everyone else to fire out of.

Meh...A ballista is just a Huge Crossbow. Penalties to hit and all...no real point in it. At least until I get Crossbow Mastery, at which point I can fire Ballista bolts as fast as I could a bow. Possibly Rapid Shot down the line.

Good luck drawing the ballista's bow with 9str, though.

Although Rapid Shot full attack with a ballista ? This must happen, if only for the awesome mental image.

It never says you have to have a certain strength to operate a crossbow/ballista. Don't even take Str penalties to damage, which is why I chose it.

Speaking of which, if a Ballista is just a Huge Heavy Crossbow...Huge Double Repeating Heavy Crossbow. Just because.

Don't forget that Ballista shots cost 10 gold a pop and that loading is still a full action.

Essentially a huge crossbow. It isn't a true huge crossbow.

It actually counts as a "Siege engine" and uses intelligence instead of dexterity to aim.

In fact for a Fighter if you chose "crossbows" as your weapon bonus, it doesn't include Ballistae. Only Siege weapons does.
