Yeah, the tutorial says poison destroys them.

That is why you go and die in the water. :)

So I figured out that I wanted to look at the source, could somebody help me make this multiplayer?

I'd actually be more likely to play this multiplayer, but you'd need to change the end game somehow. I just drove everyone to extinction with the hope of being the only strain remaining but I failed, sadly. An interesting game.

Making a game multiplayer if it wasn't planned almost from the beginning to allow for multiplayer at some point is very, very hard. It generally entails a pretty big architectural change, or adding hacks everywhere, making it a buggy mess.

That said, I don't have a ton of practical experience with it, so take it with a grain of salt :)

I once made a singleplayer BYOND game a multiplayer BYOND game. But that was easy to do..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the purpose of BYOND was to be multiplayer, right? If you're working from bare C code that's probably not going to be the case :)

As someone who's worked with BYOND for a few years now, as well as having a background in programming. BYOND is designed for multiplayer games, and making a singleplayer BYOND game multiplayer is absolutely nothing like hacking an existing game into one. Also, totally different languages. I didn't check to see what Cultivation is written in, but DM (the language that BYOND uses) is made for multiplayer games. Unless you have a good grasp of whatever Cultivation is written in, a large amount of time, and a willingness to potentially rewrite entire sections of the game, it's going to be a very difficult process.

You'd have to rebuild it from scratch with the additional features.
