I recently upgraded to a pair of new Logitech G930 headphones, unfortunately they are incompatible with my PC because I have no USB 2.0 ports, it's all 3.0. The sound quality is thus poorer than it should be, and the headphones frankly seem overpriced and generally not worth it. I've had a lot of trouble with them. They also limit me to only being able to enjoy the HD audio on my PC, not my television or PS Vita or anything else like that.

I don't really like wireless headphones, I've realised that. I have no use for them and the battery life depleting just irritates me. I always break cable headphones due to overuse, but I think I just need to be far more careful with them next time. Thus I'm going to send my G930s back for a refund (citing the compatibility problem) and I would like to acquire a pair of new headphones that would fit in an audio jack.

Would anyone be able to advise me on a good pair? I'll hopefully be able to get about a £130 refund on those G930s, so maybe something in a range up to and/or including that price would be ideal.

Goldring NS1500 Noise Canceling Headphones

All my headphones fail just because I kick the wires hard while they're plugged in, which ruins the connection. No problem, the Goldring has replaceable wires so that you don't have to buy new headphones or solder the wires should the wires get damaged! Very sharp quality, and the noise canceling really immerses you, whether your playing games or just trying to drown out all the other noise in the office.

Should be right up in your price range and expected quality too.

Oh, but they're strictly headphones, no microphone.

I've got these ones, and they are great. Nice sound, comfortable to wear, and very reasonably priced. They even have the replaceable wires like Muz mentioned.

There's no built in microphone, if you use VoIP you will have to buy one of those $3 clip on thingies or something though.

I have a pair and I love them. They're comfortable and sound great. The only big problem is that they're closed, which obviously isn't a problem for you.

The cord will likely hold up for you, at least longer than most. It's reinforced on both ends; it's coiled in the middle (depending on what type you get), so if you kick it it'll just stretch and go back.

Never heard of them, so I can't say. For high end stuff, I think Bose headphones are most highly recommended. They may not sound perfect, but if you don't listen to music for a living you probably couldn't tell.

But I'd recommend because I'm a big fan of noise cancelling, the comfort, and the travel pack. Bose and Goldring are really easy to travel with... I've brought mine back and forth from the office in a stuffed backpack for about a year now and they still run good as new.

Always go for over-ears/on-ears, always go for high quality.
The set I'm using (and have been using for the past ~3 years) is called Sennheiser HD-25 Mk II. Awesome stuff - check it ut! Price tag is 150€ or a bit more, but it's worth every cent.
