But Xarokan did not go unpunished. For the Pearl was itself a stolen gift from the sea.

When the Horrible Beings were defeated, and scattered, Xarokan was punished, by being bound forevermore by coral chains, chains that symbolised his theft from the sea. He was free to go anywhere, but the chains reminded him and all who lived of his sin against the Ocean.

The Maelstrom left him after that, but he needed to be punished.

The Ocean does not approve of thieves.

And Selekel and his remaining demons, having been driven form the World Basket, retreated to the dark underside with the Horrible Beings, and there the False-Fur sat and brooded, plotting his revenge.

Entirely logical outcome. The Ocean was defined as "punishing those who take more than they need". Xarokan and his fluffy buddies promised to not take more than they needed, while Selekel showed greed. Choice was obvious.
That's not really true. Xarokan took enough enough food to feed not only himself, but an entire rodent army, before he had even met said rodent army.

Indeed, but that was before an avatar of the ocean came by, at which point he was all "I WONT DO IT AGAIN I PROMISE! Here, keep the unnecessary things!" while Selekel was more like "Oh, join us and together we shall rule the galaxy we'll kill them, eat them and keep the unnecessary things. Oh, and we promise to never take food from you even though eating is all we do and you are, like, the only source of food so far besides ourselves."

Meanwhile the first man had traveled long, and desired companionship. Tearing off his finger and planting it into the ground, it quickly grew into the first woman. And he was happy.

Xarokan also felt the pains of loneliness, and so he took a bride from among the she-rodents. Her name was Therafel, and she eventually bore him eight young godlings.

The Dark and Terrible things grew envious of the world and sought to corrupt it. They reached into the Void and pulled out a form of pure Darkness. "This," They said, "Will be our gift unto this world. It will go grow and in time it will return the basket to the Void.
And thus the Shadowform was thrown down and plunged deep into the earth, where it festered and waited.

Meanwhile, the Most Fluffyness sat and scratched itself and wondered what bamboo tastes like.

It was soon to know, for the man and woman had seeded the basket with bamboo seed, which quickly spread across the entirety of it, threatening to overgrow everything.

And so, to prevent everything from being overgrown by bamboo, the Great Fluffy One did eat. And eat. And eat. until only a few scattered copses were left. To prevent this from happening once again the Fluffy One did shake, sending it's loose fur and dandruff flying in all directions to land everywhere on the planet. The fur stuck and became the trees, the dandruff coated the spaces between, becoming grass. And thus all manner of plant came into being to keep the bamboo contained.

And Xarokan found that the wood of the trees made good building material with which to finally make good shelter from the elements. But, though he would be able to build a house for him and his family, Xarokan knew that he wouldn't be able to make homes for his rodent followers, nor could they make them for themselves, lacking manual dexterity and opposable thumbs as they did. So he asked the humans to build houses for his followers, offering to let them stay in the houses with the rodents and also a share of their food.

And the Ocean slumbered. The Maelstrom waited.

The rodents and humans could take only what they needed, and not any more, for if they took too much, the Ocean would respond in wrath. Xarokan's chains of coral were reminder enough to all who saw him, to never abuse the Ocean.

The Maelstrom itself manifested as churning waters, sucking in all who dared pass after mistreating the Ocean;  and these were called whirlpools. It rarely appeared in a humanoid form anymore, for the world did not call the Ocean.

Melphari was content to rest, for now.

And so within it, the fish looked above, to the rodents and humans who braved the infinite sea, and desired their form.

So they, taking seaweed and coral, wove and sculpted themselves new forms, and became the merfolk. They did not have fur, for the harsh Ocean contraried the growth of fluffiness.

And so did the first Men of the Sea rise.

And thus did the world enter the Age of Peace.

Rodent and Man built as brothers, constructing homes of wood and stone under the aegis of Xarokan and his divine children.

Great Melphari, though powerful, lay silent and from her flesh did emerge the Merfolk; imitations of Men and Rodent alike and yet different entirely. In time, they crowned amongst themselves Czars who spoke in the name of the Ocean.

And yet, Selekel brooded. He had been defeated in battle, his vassals crushed and now once again at each other's throats. Angered and morose, the Kind of Daemons was approached by the Shadowform. It spoke to the King and thus Selekel was enlightened: the World was peaceful but stagant...prosperous but primitive...ordered but dull. The False-Fur grinned and knew he would have his vengeance.

...

And so it came to pass, that the children of Xarokan were playing amongst the bamboo forests when they encountered a Great But Not Too Great Furry Rodent. It asked what they did for fun.

 "Fun?" they replied.

The GBNTGFR laughed.

"I shall show you fun little ones, I shall!"

And so He did.

To the First He gave the secrets of weaving. Thus was Iskus the Weaver named. Textiles of all kinds was introduced to the world...And so the world learned of modesty...and Lust.

To the Second He gave the secrets of agriculture. Thus was Avide the Farmer named. Now, plants of all kinds could be harvested and produced at great amounts...And so the world learned of wealth...and Greed.

To the Fourth He gave the secrets of writing. Thus was Fierte the Scholar named. Now, stories and messages could be delivered without voice or person...And so the world learned culture...and Pride.

To the rest He gave no secrets. With green hearts, these godlings swore to trouble their gifted siblings for evermore. And so did they learn Envy. They became the Furies.

Thus did the World know Sin.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
You seemed to have skipped the Third.

EDIT: Oh, and thinking about it, and then looking it up, rodents actually lack canines, so Xarokan couldn't have made the Great Fluffy One's canine into a spear unless he had taken all of them and all rodents, in reflection of the perfect rodent, then lost their canines from then on. So I think maybe it would be a better idea if it had been an incisor instead.
