Roll to Survive! (Meaning, NOT DYING)
« on: September 17, 2013, 04:13:48 pm »

Wathump.

Where are you? You feel pain, look around, and see at least one other person lying on the sandy grass near you. You sigh and give back into the pain. You remember your life before... Whatever happened here.

What did you do from ages 1-10. This will affect your character's items, and you will model your description around it.

This will be a survival game set in the late dark ages. You must join NOW, and if you die you must wait until there is a rare special way to receive a new teammate, or you must wait until everyone dies.

I am in space. From the ages of one to ten I trained as an apprentice falconer. I got pneumonia at the age of five.

Survive.

Goddamnit stop attempting to discover the plot twists early. Be quiet for now.

(( :) ))
Sam does not remember much after his fall (?) but he does recall a childhood of chasing small animals through the woods. He got quite good at it actually. At least, as far as he remembers.

Don't post actions yet. There will be a second part before you start actioning, and that will be the teen-to-adult life. For now, I'll hop in as well. Just gonna say...

No one knew much about Rune. They only knew he loved cool, crisp air and his favorite number was 206. He practiced everyday on the straw dummy his father made in the backyard. Sticks, clubs, cudgels, and most recently, a sword.

Danath was a willful child, and prone to getting into trouble.  He loved to explore around the rooftops and alleyways near his father's smithy, terrorising the birds, and irritating the locals.  His mother eventually got tired of his behaviour, and his little 'adventures' came to an end.  He eventually took an interest in his father's work, and often watched as he shaped horseshoes, spades, blades.

No, post what he did from the age of 10-23. Here's mine.

After the grueling years of training, his skill became widely known. The king knighted him, and eventually recruited him into the royal guard. Until the king was assassinated, and "Rune" was framed. He escaped by jumping out a window into the sea next to the royal castle. That is all he remembers.

Sam grew into a young hunter, stalking animals having a sudden new meaning for him. He never isolated himself from society, enjoying the company of others, but there was an inner peace he felt while on the hunt that he could find nowhere else.

As Danath grew, he followed in his father's footsteps and became a blacksmith.  He learned quickly, and he and his father created masterful works together.  However, when he was 21, his father was afflicted with consumption, and passed away.  With his father gone, all passion for his work left him.  He still worked the smithy for a time, but his work lacked passion and was flawed.  He eventually decided to leave, and seek better prospects elsewhere.  He took nothing with him but the clothes on his back, and his father's blacksmith hammer, selling the rest to allow his mother to live out her days in relative comfort.  For two years he wandered, getting work where he could find it, never staying in one place.  He eventually found work as a guard for merchant caravans, keeping them safe from bandits and highwaymen.  It was good pay, and rarely dangerous, as the sight of a large group of guards was usually enough to deter most bandits.  He did see his fair share of action however, and became quite adept at using that hammer of his.

He was guarding a shipment of vegetables when the attack happened.  He was sitting in the back of one of the wagons, playing dice with one of the other guards when he heard the screams.  He grabbed his hammer and rushed out to see what was happening, just as a volley of arrows struck where he had just been sitting, riddling his gambling partner with arrow shafts.  He spun round, trying to locate the source of the arrows when he felt a blinding pain on the back of his head, and then darkness.

Joe's life was peaceful after that. He joined an Amish community and grew an Amish approved beard. He graduated as a falconer and trained a pet falcon, whom he named Sasha.

Remmy- Companion, Sasha.

Draco- +1 to hammer combat, or building with it.

Sam- +2 to sanity rolls when in forest, jungles, or Savannah.

Rune- +2 to defending other people, + with a broadsword.

And now, for the actions.
