Any way to increase the number of clowns during world gen?
« on: September 17, 2013, 08:13:12 am »

I've noticed that each time I generate a world, there will only be ten that escaped to become rulers of a civilization. Are there any specific parameters I should check?

Just wondering since I've never had one as a companion before and I want to increase my chances.
Thanks!

Increase the number of demons in the advanced worldgen settings? That probably should do it.

There is an option to increase the number of demon types, but not the number of historical demons that appear in the beginning of world gen. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Well, I figure more demon types means more demons in general, which would mean possibly more escaped demons.

Ah, I thought it meant there would be more random characteristics and physical features in the existing population of demons rather than increasing their number (since the number of demons is infinite if my memory serves me correctly).

I'll mess around a bit. Thank you for your time.

It does, but the reason demons "escape" from the underworld is that the specific demon type is generated with the [UNIQUE_DEMON] tag, instead of the [DEMON] tag. [DEMON]s live in the underworld and might pay you a visit when you knock on their front door. [UNIQUE_DEMON]s are individuals of a unique race, of which there is only one member, who escapes from the underworld. So I would expect jacking up the demon types to result in more [UNIQUE_DEMON]s.

It does indeed. Since some time ago all my worlds are created with 1000 demon tipes, and all goblin and human civs are ruled by demons.
Demon prisioners are easier to found in adventure mode, too.
