So...
[Disgrace i]s trying to turn Koro into a thief mostly because Killman wants Koro to become a sorcerer simply out of spite.
And this is connected to Disgrace hating her mother because...

Disgrace is the one doing it out of spite. Here, have a link to what spite means if you still having trouble: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/spite

Did I miss the part where Killman was Disgrace's mother, and where being a sorcerer and being a thief were mutually exclusive?

Missed the former GWG. Disgrace was stated to be a bastard daughter of Killman's.

Alright.

And, again, why could Koro not be a sorcerer if he was a thief?

I dunno, but that's what's implied by the turn, so either Killman would not approve of Koro A) Hanging with Disgrace or B) Koro squandering his talent on drugs and petty theft (And/or Larcency)

You comment to Koro that you have been smelling strange stuff from his room, and he gives you a look and gets a bit angry.
Stupid as hell. We'd have been better off just admitting we searched his room, even.

Remember what I said about not being a hypocrite? How did you think it would end, lying to him while simultaneously asking him to tell the truth?

 * Stop treating Koro badly. No more lying, no more searching his room, no more sending spies after him. All this stuff accomplishes is it teaches him to be sneaky and dishonest...after all, if we're being sneaky and dishonest why shouldn't he? And if we treat him this way, not only does it encourage the behavior, it also alienates him. There's no good reason to do this. Treat him honorably.
+ all of the ones. Seriously, we need to stop being such a whiny little bitch before Alred gets a quest from Disgrace to slay the evil mother-in-law.

Alright.

And, again, why could Koro not be a sorcerer if he was a thief?
GWG, please stop suggesting things if you aren't going to actually read the updates first.

* Express interest in Disgrace's offer, and ask her to help us learn to read. If she feels like we look up to her, that makes her feel good and gives her incentive to not cause problems for Koro. We want to learn to read anyway, and having two tutors will help us learn faster. Plus, mage guild contacts are not a bad thing. Also, the more time we spend with her, the less time she's spending alone with Koro and the more likely we are to find out what's going on.
-1, mostly. We really don't want to be indebted to her, which asking her for tutoring will do. We also don't want to get involved in the Disgrace/Killman feud, and I suspect both of them would take us getting Disgrace as a tutor to be getting involved. Plus, that would basically tell Koro "go for it, even your whiny mother approves of her now." Express tentative interest in her offer, but mention that we're still readjusting to being in town blah blah blah stuff might come up.

I'm thinking that continuing to hone our reading ability should be a priority. Our tutor won't be around forever, and learning how to read provides potential for advancement in various things.

Also, why not head to that party? It can't hurt to be a small part of dwarven society, and slowly ingratiate ourselves with the people of the embassy.
Agreed on both counts.

Yes. Yes, we do. Perhaps you should aspire to be something other than a criminal with no idea of how to speak to people without insulting them?
Note: That was OOC.
Then maybe we should stop acting like one.

Keep at the salvaging. Yes, we want those mermen disposed of. Yes, we want the safe cracked, although I prefer that he whip up some acid to dissolve the lock. All this landlubberly shit is pointless when we are clearly habituated to the watery depths. To say nothing of our son. You want to solve his many problems? Here's how. You get him busy doing things you both like. Until his associates in the wizard guild focus on memorising various waterbreathing and free movement spells, we have him all to ourselves when we're underwater. The many problems all sort themselves out when he is too preoccupied to get into trouble on shore with dodgy landlubbers.
I don't think we should dispose of the mermen just yet, and we definitely don't want to open the safe till we can get it out of the water first (it would really suck to open it up, find out the contents are very valuable, then have them ruined by water). Otherwise, tentative +1. The problem is, we have a number of things we need to take care of on land as well...

Now, in addition to LordBucket's suggestion about what to do about Koro's recent misadventures, I would like to add that we should have a nice, long talk with him about morality and related topics.
No. We've faffed around on that front far too much already, and it's become pretty clear that our character has all the tact and ability to not piss people off of a box jellyfish swarm.
Frankly, I'm surprised the Kraken didn't replace us ages ago.

With apologies, the reason you're seeing the abrasive comments is that GWG was the only person who wanted us to lie to Koro. There was not one single post of agreement with that suggestion, whereas there have been several posts from various people over the past couple pages agreeing that we don't want to do that kind of thing: 1 2 3 4

So we're kind of annoyed that the guy who apparently isn't even reading updates is sabotaging the game.

I'd appreciate if you'd explain yourself.
Firstly, that is a valid question. In what way does Discord having Koro taught thievery by the magician's guild prevent Koro from being tutored in the ways of sorcery?
Secondly, those updates are long. There is a LOT of detail, and if I'm focused on things more directly related to the issues we worried about before it's easy to miss something.
Thirdly, I've been going by with consistently an hour or two less sleep than I probably should, which means that I need to focus my finite focus on school stuff and not Bay12w233eeeee

Mind explaining how we have been acting like one?

Yes, because the perfect solution to our son (who has been completely outside of normal society all his life except these past few weeks) having friends we disapprove of is to make sure that he doesn't spend time with the friends we approve of either, while working him in the day and doing nothing to stop him from heading out at night.
The underwater stuff is a hobby. It might be a paying hobby, but it's low-priority.

So we're kind of annoyed that the guy who apparently isn't even reading updates is sabotaging the game.
I'm not "sabotaging the game," and I am reading updates. I merely lack total recall of every word in every update.
And if my suggestions that no one likes are being picked, that either indicates that the GM screwed up or that he didn't see any other plan from anyone else. It is not my fault, do not blame it on me!

I may need to re-read a bit but if your a theif/crook then that means you...can't be a magician/sorcerer?

Their must be something he can do to help become a sorcerer even IF he has to do it bit by bit on his own.

Easy now, lads, easy now. We don't need to get snippy at each other.

I think the main thing is Kilman wouldn't look kindly on us having any non-antagonistic relationship with Disgrace, and the person Kilman finds is our best chance for Koro to get a decent magic education, because the Magicians Guild here doesn't seem too impressive. Really powerful wizards wouldn't also be petty criminals. They'd have no need to. It'd be like the pope mugging someone. Possible, I guess, but never going to happen in reality. If we anger Kilman by associating with her daughter she may find the most radical, 'wizards deserve everything' nutjob she can find out of spite and next thing we know the Golden's City's blackened and the Chantry are very upset.[1] And we want Koro to have integrity, not be a petty criminal.

And the next thing you know a dragon starts rampaging through half the known world just for the sake of it :P

Also, I just reckon these mages do drug-dealing as a side venture to fund their experiments and the like.

Snooping around time!

We'll ask people at the embassy about the guilds members/operations.

Also bringer cardboard box.
