The last time I downloaded it, the .exe was in the main directory among some .txt files.  i.e. \RimWorldAlpha7bWin\RimWorld583Win\RimWorld583Win.exe

(I don't think I've been sent a new download link for version 7c / 584 and I appear to have deleted the email that the link for 7b / 583 came on)

If there is no EXE that means its more of a patch...which you just drag and drop everything into your previous installation (7b) and it just overwrites what needs changed

Well since I use Windows I got the

RimWorld - Windows Download (receiving a RimWorldAlpha7cWin file) - after unziping I had the normal folder structure;

RimWorldAlpha7cWin\RimWorld584Win\RimWorld584Win_Data
                                                 \Mods
                                                 \Source

and so on - but no exe in any of them.

Thankfully the prototype pack works to some degree, but really, the main (limited!) download could contain a working .exe next time : (.

I just downloaded the file.

These are the contents

  • RimWorld584Win
    • <Mods>
    • <RimWorld584Win_Data>
    • <Source>
    • Credits_FreeSounds.txt
    • Readme_Modmaking.txt
    • Readme_SaveFiles.txt
    • Readme_Translations.txt
    • RimWorld584Win.exe
    • Version.txt

Sounds like an AV program deleting stuff without telling you.

Yeah download was corrupted (twice), something was eaten while unzipping and once violated while moving from SSD to normal drive, but the last download worked, much to my suprise and delight.

Good game, it lends itself to story creation - but of course it shows its early development status at points. Combat system is fairly solid and enjoyable - and it rewards keeping your base tidy. Plus Boomrats are one of the most fun critters.

Sadly, no more downloads left for my work PC and I didn't think to upload it for myself. Guess I have to be productive.

The download limit is why I always DL it straight into my dropbox, heh.

Uhh, it's not like you need a code or DRM or anything, the files are there as is, as long as you have one successful download then you can just copy it anywhere.

But if you download it, and your download was corrupted for whatever reason, then you don't have an active copy and have used one of your download limits, so you have to spend a 2nd download to try and get a non-corrupt download.

Well, yes, but that's an even better reason to put the successful download somewhere you can copy to other places like your work.

That and each update resets your download limit.

And tbh Tynan seems like a nice guy so if you ever really had trouble like 5 bad downloads in a row I'm sure he would reset it or something for you.

Wow, a LOT of new cool features!

Food spoils. This can be slowed or prevented with refrigeration.

Can you cook everything and refrigerate the meals or is it still better to store everything raw?

You can go either way, but cooked meals will spoil faster.
