Has anyone else gotten past 100 days with the normal Cassandra? After 100 days, I've noticed that the waves of pirates become unsurmountable, and I had to barricade myself into a two tile thick stone wall.

Well, mods are fun.
Warning: large images

A bunch of stone-age tribesmen up against machine guns, sniper rifles, and electrified barbed wire. They picked a bad place to attack.

And a somewhat more zoomed-out view.

Here's the rest of my base. The two empty, mined out rooms by the generator will be for capacitors and a proper prison, respectively.

Yes, I have mods installed. Mods are fun.

Hm, I'm not sure if geothermals short in the rain or not... so far I've always put a room around them but in all screenshots I can see they're out in the open.

Still probably a good idea to protect them from gunfire.

Try the big bang pack, most good mods are in it. If you have no use for decorative nonfunctional stuff, disable Clutter and e-furniture though.

They don't short out, and if you build a stone wall around your base, you'll be just fine.

Until raiders attack your stone walls, not matter where they are on the map.

I've found that if I wall it in raiders tend to run over to my geothermal generator to 'ignite metal walls' but if I leave it out in the open they ignore it

Which is why you layer it two thick.

That doesn't make much sense as walls seem to burn just fine right now no matter how thick.

My stone walls have never burned more than a few seconds.

I've just discovered +"insta bought" this game. Holy cow, the devs have already earned more than $ 800k, and the latest build is still an early alpha. If they keep updating the game at this pace [3 major releases in 3 months? Nice!], they will reach 1m $ in this year. The modding support is excellent as well already. I think it's possible to create a fantasy TC mod even.
I am having a blast already, the game has so much potential, my only problem is the weird gfx, but I know that it can be modded as well of course.

PS. @ OP [I realized that he's the main developer] -> ------ Updated October 2 2014

Hehe.. :D
