Why cage trap don't work?
« on: January 17, 2008, 02:33:00 pm »

I found a cave river with giant lobsters, which killed a lot of my dwarves. Then I placed cage traps near the shore, then decoyed one lobster to trap, but NOTHING HAPPENED! (Except that I've lost another two silly dwarves) Does cage trap activation probability depends on quality of cage/mechanism?

Sorry, didn't notice adjacent thread in a hurry. Are pre-generated monsters immune to ALL traps, or just to cage traps?

Just cage traps, IIRC.

Test and let us know!

Stone traps doesn't seem to work either

I think naming fort Crabcrabs the Greatest Lobster of Lobsters was a bad idea... These stupid dwarves continued to go to shore and clean blood even after I had forbidden all items there. Some had too slow reflexes to notice crocodile/lobster and run away. After I had lost my legendary smith and expert mechanic I got frustrated and sent all dwarves to their death  :)

Have you tried smelting some lobster pots?  Lobster sticks to magnetite.

(drum hit)
