Sacha was leaning against the wall when Aqi walked through the door.

"I want you to keep an eye on our new friend in there." Sacha said getting straight to her point.

[Powder Miner]

:"You want me to be a spy...?"

[CrimsonEon]

: "You are an... interesting bunch." Chance scratched the back of his head warily, "I do not suppose our next deployment will be too terribly far off, Captain? I am eager to see what these pilots are capable of."

[Nerjin]

"Why so surprised? You seem smart enough for the job and I doubt you're going to betray anyone here. You don't seem the type. Him on the other hand? He's a mercenary. I don't think he's up to anything... Yet... But he does jobs for money. He might turn on us for that very reason. Just keep an ear out." Sacha sighed before continuing "We need to keep the group safe. Can you do this for me, Aqi? Can I trust you?"

[Parsely]

: Yeah! I can't wait to see what your performance is like in the field!

Cora pauses. Her cheeks flush.

: Er-! N-not like that! Rather- What I mean is-

Cora stammers.

[Powder Miner]

:"Oh, the Nakoris guy! I mean, I won't do anything creepy, but I guess I can just listen every once in a while..."

[Nerjin]

"That's all I'm asking of you Aqi. Thanks." Sacha made to go inside before she stopped and turned back towards Aqi "Wait... Who did you think I wanted you to keep tabs on?"

[CrimsonEon]

: "Take a breath, miss. I know you mean well."

[Powder Miner]

:"The, uh, girl in the wounded argoth."

[Nerjin]

"Oh, her... No, I'll keep an eye on her myself. I can't focus everywhere at once though. Hence your assistance."

[Parsely]

Kester leans over to Cora and whispers something to her without a smirk, for once. Nonetheless, the words themselves made up for it.

: "You know, letting him keep it in his pants may be a good idea, pretty face or not. He's a merc, won't be 'round forever."

[Parsely]

Cora pauses, a bit stunned at his blunt tone, then grimaces. She places her palm on Kester's face and pushes him away gently.

: Way to trash my whole fantasy with that horrible image. It didn't even get a chance to get that far.

Her eyebrows furrow and she looks sideways at him, her palm still on his face.

: There's a reason why you don't have a girlfriend Kester..

The boy flusters and pulls back, blushing furiously. Indeed, he is the very picture of childish indignation. It's hard to remember(or is it forget?), sometimes, that the pilot is barely 17. And, unfortunately, he is not wise or mature beyond his years...


: "I-I could get a g-gir-girlfriend if I wanted! Carsinque's enough for me, is all, and besides, I'm a mercenary; it wouldn't do to grow attached to anyone."

Despite his words, he looks deflated. Probably a good thing, at this point, though. The wild-looking young man walks away, muttering about women and jokes, sitting at a table and sulking. He only tries to sulk harder when he learns they won't serve him alcohol.

[Parsely]

Cora is a bit taken aback at the effect her words had. She pulls herself together, then pursues him as he makes his way to the bar.

: W-wait! Kester-!
