Odd engravings

This dwarf apparently has an irrational fear of oysters that he felt he needed to engrave the mayor's room with either a nightmare or a terrible childhood trauma:

That's quite common, I find it funny though. You'll get lots of engravings of poor dwarves surrounded by horrible things the loathe.
The one with oysters is somewhat hilarious.

I realized that the dwarf carving it and the dwarf surrounded by the oysters are different. So this is the retelling of a nightmare by a certain dwarf.

I can picture it now, the victim shaking recounting the horror of standing in a shallow pool of water, with dozens of oysters surrounding him, spraying tiny jets of water in the air. The dwarf looks around, panicked and a tiny jet of water strikes his face. He pulls at his long double-braided hair, looking to the sky, screaming as the camera flings skyward, looking down at his terrified face.

Or try to imagine this all as the ascii art intro animation.

"We've fished too deep. The oysters! They're coming!"

Look at the relationships between them, they probably don't like each-other.

I will run the experiment to completion anyway, however. Even if the only reason why there is a punctured equilibrium in the fortress is because I have been brutally butchering babies
EDIT: I just remembered that dwarves can't equip halberds. That might explain why the squads that use them always die.

I had a dwarf producing statues of another dwarf surrounded by jumping spiders. I checked and there was no grudge between them. Anyway, I should have paid more attention, because the arachnophobe dwarf later tantrumed after observing a cage teeming with his favourite beasties..

I've always thought those sorts of things, when they dealt with important dwarves, were political satire.  In at least one fort, I had an engraving of my expedition leader (who had long since lost that post to mayor being a thing, but who was still broker, bookkeeper, and manager) "embracing [two] women of twilight", which were of course spouse-converter night creatures.  Methinks the engraver was not a fan of financial/job policies.

Or, your book keeper/manager has some twisted fetishes.

Remember, in .40d, dwarves could have pref strings for tentacle demons "For their impure intentions".

It is entirely possible that your broker LIKED those engravings, explicitly for their subject matter.

I'd hope the engraving was something like this:

And the dwarf is terrified because of the cholesterol content.
