New scripts allows creature spawning. Which type would you like most? You have 2 votes.

Constructs: Mechanical/Steampunky Creatures, like Turrets, Landmines and Golems.
Fungi: Fungus-farming dwarves create Myconids, Slimes and Blobs.
Summoning/Conjuration: Demon and/or Elemental summoned at a magical altar.
Animate/Alchemy: Animate mud, stone, gems, metals, weapons or armor into "animated sword" or "mud golem"
Entymologist: Create giant insect versions, like Giant Spiders and Giant Roaches through mutation.
Heroes/Unique Super-Creatures: Hire well trained mercs or heroes of dwarven legend. Only one at a time. (Unsure if possible)
Something else (Please give more info about your idea)

I agree about the white text on the image.  Perhaps just changing the text color to something that's predominant in the image will help, such as red.

Also, could you add a spot for entering the worldgen seeds.

I'm also not so sure about these settings modifying all templates.  Couldn't you read the existing templates and have a drop down menu that will apply the changes only to that template.  I don't like the idea of it changing all of my templates, when I know I've got some that I like the way they are.

I can make it more readable, sure.

If you know how to use the advanced worldgen and have your own templates, then by all means, use those. This is only intended for people that are intimidated by the adv. worldgen. As long as you dont use it, it shouldnt overwrite anything. Worst case you'd have to keep backups. I am still fiddling around with it, but I am not a good enough coder for it to read out custom entries from the worldgen files... I could do that if there'd be a file for each worldgen, but as it is that worldgens are all in the same file, and the program has no was of knowing which "EMBARK_POINTS:" goes to which template.

Looks much better  :)

Did you manually spray the areas on the layer below the text? If so, you might want to use a diffuse outer glow effect on the text itself as it would trivialize any updates to the UI. Whichever, it looks nice and readable.

Visual Basics doesnt allow glow. Only bold, italic, underline, strikeout... thats it. so yeah, its manually done.

All tilesets done, three new in total. Masterwork (Matrix is now Matrix again, MAsterwork gots its own setting now), Obsidian Soul and Spacefox are added.

Best of all: The settings replace the creature sprites now as well, so you get the fitting dwarves as well. I updated Ironhand with this as well.

That screen definitely needs to be more readable. If you can't find a way to do it, it's better to completely remove the background picture and make the whole thing one solid color. Less pretty, but trust me, it's going to be better.

Maybe you can use the trick many websites have, a semi-transparent black background. Websites do it by making a repeating 1-pixel semi-transparent image.

I think it is very readable. Even before I added the shading, only the center with the town behind it was hard to make out. I cant do the trick you mention, VisualBasic is very, very basic in that regard.

I spend some time testing the tilesets, it looks good. I'll fix the few phoebus tiles that were mentioned in the other thread next...

Rendermax and Digging Invaders are added to the UI as well as some new buttons. PrintMode, Adv-Camera-Center, Adv-Traps, Coffins used for Pets Yes/No, Animated Grass Yes/No, 46 new buttons for the 46 workshops that were lacking one... A textbox for the embark rectangle... a link to dfterm, 2 new utilities, Df Story Maker and Announcement Filter... :)

Where's the "Apply Changes" button that will tell it to modify (or not) my WORLD_GEN's?

I think that you are letting your designer feelings interfere with your work, which is fairly normal  :P

Readable design is not about "is it possible to make out the letters". You need a lot more contrast in there at the very least.

I can add more shading manually, like I already did.

BillyJack: It applies the changes as soon as you type in a box. If you dont touch it, it wont do anything, but if you change EMBARK_POINTS to 9999, it will automatically apply this change to all worldgen templates. Only this one though.
