Ten more guys found us. How the hell did they find us? We're out in the middle of nowhere for gods' sake.
I'm a little better this time around with the whole "what did they do this week"; some interesting stuff happened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unit: Kesh
So apparently I have a blind spot in both of my eyes and missed EVERYTHING Kesh did. I should get that checked out.
Their builders went around and sterted putting up our basic houses. Since Mick's plan was (slightly) easier to work with they adopted that one instead.
Gatherers kept on truckin', like they're supposed to.
Miners both helped made and make the tools from Sergei's plan.
And for the first time Kesh's spearmen started running drills. I'm not quite sure what they're drilling against, but the whole "let's charge after the mage burns its face off" plan seems to be working quite well.
Their Archers spent the first part of the week looking for wood and trying to make some bows. Kwaa-naa, the bird leader, got a pretty solid bow design; it's better than what we're used to making under these circumstances.
Anyways, with their bows they were able to go after the bigger game, like that brown kicking thing we saw the last time. The one that kicked a Facemauler 50 yards into the river. A lot of the unaffiliated helped them haul it back.
The Fishermen ended up using Mick's Harpoons (just a sharpened stick) and the Farmers used Sergei's tools to get the fields started.
Everyone else did as usual.
Unit: Keeper
The builders had a lot of fun throwing rocks on the ground to loosen it and then used the hoes made by Sergei to dig it out properly.
The farmers planted the garden with the woven plants and filled the larger farms with the seeds from the things we were eating.
Axemen collected lumber. There's honestly not much to be said about that.
The weavers and clothmakers were told to go get food, as opposed to having them loaf around and get food.
Unit: Sergei
This guy's still paranoid. But good paranoid, so now he's just...what, careful? Who knows.
Sergei's got some plans for axes and hoes and shovels. The first two are pretty much like what we're used to but tougher, so it's all good.
His mages are helping the ones from Promtho's group to see what they can do about that whole Familiar business.
His armor makers are going around seeing what material they can make for armor. See what I mean? It's still paranoid, but in a good way. If someone finds this while I'm sleeping I swear to the gods its a complement.
Everyone else did as usual, the axemen gave their axes a little practice against trees.
(Mage skill +3, dev +1.3)
(Armorer skill +1, dev +1)
(Builder skill +2, dev +0.7)
Unit: Mick
So now we have tents and makeshift houses, thanks to this guy and that Promtho dude. Way better than sleeping on the floor, even if the weather is nice. It hasn't rained yet. oh shit.
Mick's lumberjacks (I don't get why they're not just axemen) got around making axes then used Sergei's plans for 'em, and got to work bringing back wood. It's a little slow going, considering they have to haul it back by hand. Good thing some of the unaffiliated were bouncing around helping them haul it though.
Fishermen had a field day stabbing things in the water with their spears, instead of...beating a fish to death with their bare hands. I can't help but think how they used to do it was cooler.
Gatherers collected material for fires and our farmers, more farms away!
And the farmers got to work on new fields.
Oh, and the builders go to work on making houses.
Unit: Kwaa-naa
Heroes of the hour, these guys. Remember the Maulfaces that showed up? These guys plucked them from the ground and dropped them against a rock. Genius.
...what do you mean, they were supposed to pluck rocks from the ground and drop it against them?
They worked on shaping rocks into usable tools, which for them just meant a sharpened rock with its pointy bit aimed at the target. Nifty.
Their mages though...went around shooting fire at rocks, and almost started a fire around here before they were stopped. They've sense been told to go help sharpen rocks.
The biggest thing though, is the introduction of their bows. Especially the ones that the Avians can fire from the air. Oh this is going to be good.
...
Yep, hunters went out with bows, came back with more kills, including one I haven't seen before. They made their kill on the other side of that river, so they couldn't bring back as much.
(Hunter skill +3, dev+1.7)
(Archer skill +2, dev+0.8 )
(Spearmen skill +1, dev+0.3)
(Hunted 200 food, 40 leather)
(Avian Morale +2)
Unit: Promtho
Made researches, made tents. The fact that the group is almost exclusively all non-wilderness-survival types makes it a little hard on them, but they're handling it well.
Their builders both helped build and helped guide the building effort, and with the neutral guys it's going up well and fast.
The Printers helped gather materials to make tent covering. As long as it helps shield against the elements means we're getting some weird looking tents.
Their researchers got some help from the other mages, and in return anyone who's got no job is wandering around assisting the best he can. Except to the elves, for whatever reason. It's not like the elves dislike them.
(Weaver skill +2, dev +0.9)
(Clothmaker skill +2, dev +0.8 )
(Printer skill +2, dev +0.5)
(Mage skill +3, dev +1.8 )
Overall Notes
We might need to consider how to house the Avians soon. They can live in average tents but being closer to the sky makes them happier.
Mick made a public service announcement (whatever that is) and said we should eat the food that's going bad first, to make the rest last longer. I don't see why they can't preserve it first though.
...
Oh. Turns out Mick is preserving the food.
Having some way of actually storing the food would be good too.
New Introduction
Fauna - resembles - horse
At a glance:
Fast, Strong. Tackle tendencies.
Fairly docile, herbivore.
Abundant.
=========================
An Event has Occured While out hunting one of the Avians noticed some distinctly not-prey movements in the forest. It's hard to tell who they are and what they're doing, but they certainly noticed the massive bunch of campfires that makes up the preliminary town. What to do?
=================================
Post your commands for next week!
Event will resolve Tuesday evening.
Week 4 will occur...hrm...Wednesday evening.
Also choose which (of the two) buildings you want built, and how many. (Not mutually exclusive)
