Help, I have muddy ground, and seeds, and a farmer, but I can't get the farm signal to go green. is there something I am doink wrong?

Yup, you cannot create farms in winter. And when it switches to spring, the nice mud will partially dry, so you will have to make the ground muddy again before putting the farm plot.

OK, so you cannot create farm plots at any time, even if you completely control the flooding?

I noticed that my newly flooded rooms would not let me create farm plots, and was wondering what I had done wrong. Looks like it's a timing problem.

Now, is there a way to tell what season it is, and how long it is till the next? I seem to have a hard time with that...

The season is found in the upper right-hand corner of the [z] status screen.
