Turkeys have Disrupted the Space-Time Continuum
« on: September 07, 2013, 09:16:57 pm »

I discovered a city with a dungeon I want to explore, but the framerate plummeted as soon as I ventured in.  Sure enough, I discovered an entire section completely saturated with lag-inducing turkeys and dogs.

These vermin have horribly distorted the space-time continuum, which I have an obligation to protect.  Any ideas on how to slaughter them all without pissing off the local civilization?

Without pissing off the locals? You could try luring bandits towards them, if there are any in the dungeon.

Otherwise you could use DFHack's slayrace command.

Simple. Save. Open your save's raws and mod turkeys and dogs to have HOMEOTHERM:50000. Reload. Run.

Set the ground on fire and hope they path over it. Not sure if lighting a campfire underneath a creature counts as an attack. Then again, you're indoors and smoke could get you.

Also, what are those colored @s? I know that's not the actual symbol though.

Hmm.  I had the idea of retiring, rolling another adventurer, slaughtering with him, suiciding, then un-retiring.  But the homeotherm option is looking especially interesting...

I'll travel back to the city and let you know what happens.

:D Note to self: genocidal change to biology on-the-fly is a thing that I can do.

Sigtext. Enticing, yes? If you do not know where things I have "sigged" go, this page will explain.
