After, or even during, his attempt to scan with his mind, Thomas also switches out his current clip to the experimental rounds he has. Just in case he needs to fire to save a team member. "Alright. Jackson, Walker, Welch; You have permission to move out."

Prepare pulse rounds, but try not to use them unless necessary. Every bullet used is an asset wasted.

"Outstanding," Walker growled into the radio, his voice showing the first trace of real happiness. "Welch, ground that gat and give supporting fire when you have a good shot. I do not want to see you fucking waste ammo on 'suppression'. Commander has a partial on turrets, and turrets ain't famous for ducking when shot at. Take your shots, but if you get me or Jackson in the back I will ram that gun so far up your ass you'll think it's your goddamn spine."
 "Jackson, you're with me. Ever done a smokescreen play?" Walker bared his teeth in another grin. "'Cause you've got about five seconds to learn how."

Prime a smoke grenade, wait until it's about a half second from going, then throw to the closest turret in a low trajectory. Drop whatever low visibility filters the suit has and charge, using the smoke corridor as cover. Fire controlled bursts from the assault rifle while moving if I think I have a 50% chance or better of hitting.

They could have been asleep in the back of the transport and the rest of us didn't notice them (or care).
Or they could have been on a different transport that got lost for a while
or be reinforcements for us to call in if needed

Unlikely to actually happen, but plausible

Or they could have been on a different transport that got lost for a while

One transport, one squad, less chance of detection

or be reinforcements for us to call in if needed

I'M just gonna hand-wave it', they were there all along


Also got an eighth, we hashed out his character in person, He knows starcraft quite well and I trust him not to screw the game up when I grant him a unique character, details on the 3 newbies soon

Aurora finally un-jams her weapon and proceeds to check the rest of her equipment {8} Gauss assault Rifle, with 4 spare clips, Supply of Auto Anesthetizing bandages, suit patches, monatomic scalpel, 10 doses each of advanced Coagulant, Anticoagulant and pain killer, 20 doses of quick burn Stims and a Re-usable pressure tent and rushes out to meet the rest of the team.

Vanessa finally manages to sort the brief glitch in her light armor that manifested upon landing, as soon as the problem is solved she checks her gear with a smile, the new customized guns holstered at her hips she begins running to catch up, eyes everywhere as she sprints, the suits systems giving her a nice speed boost... Coming up to the other squaddies up on the hill, she grins in her helmet, listening to the plan and the banter... cresting the hill and drawing her pistols, joining Walker and Jackson as they charge into the smoke, looking to close on the turrets before they can lock and get in close, ready to shred whatever looks important from within targeting range... smiling at Walker as she slips past nimbly.. "You boys going to hurry up, turrets arent known for their patients...."

Charges the Turrets, trying to get close to one and put it between her and the other at close range, staying in a position where it wont be able to hit her, then shred its circuits (not sure if I can do all that in one turn,but hey, will see).

Doing the actions a little experimentally, at least for me, feedback would be apreciated

{?} Lieutenant Welch looks for cover towards the door, but assuming that all the fire is coming from there, any cover would take you away from your target; the position of this base seems well chosen. Meenwhile {?} Captain Arca finds no thoughts on the other side of the wall and none at all except for his team.

About this time, Commander Aurora informs the team that there are likely a pair of hidden turrets protecting the door, at the same time, Walker lights up one of his cigars while chewing out the team heavy and upon hearing his subordinate's words, Arca ejects his explosive round clip and inserts the pulse ammunition, holding the shot untill he is sure it is needed.

5 Seconds later, Walker throws his smoke and begins chargeing at the Turrets, as soon as the smoke goes out, the turrets activate and Walker identifies them as eah carrying two gauss guns, and their sensor package seems to contain thermal and sonar in addition to visual. But it is too late, he is already over the ridge, so he keeps chargeing, and Welch follows him, they hear heavy footsteps and notice Nox finally catching up. Arca opens fire on the nearer turret {2+1} but he misses, the brief flash of blue light overhooting it's target {3-1}{7-1} The turrets' aiming seems to be slightly put off by the smoke but not completely stopped, and they open up. One missing and the other scoring a hit on Walker's Leg. {6+1} Nox springs the remaining distance and lands almost on top of one of the guns, keeping it as a shield against the other target, she starts ripping out components {5+1} She scores the thermal sensor, leaving it only sonar to target with {6+1+1} a second later, Welch opens up with the deafening roar of his heavy weapon, the 10 sonic booms in quick succession almost distracting from the effect, as the un-damaged turret is litteraly ripped from it's mounting
