325ft+325ft = 650 ft, (Or about 198 Meters.)
But that's really the max before it starts losing effectiveness very quickly. You're still losing accuracy for distance before that, at -1% for every 5 or so ft starting at a base of 50%. So really, with your low skill at the moment - your max range is going to be much lower with just normal shots.
You can however spend AP to aim, and with the scope you'll gain a +50% Bonus for every 2 AP spent aiming.

And to give you a sense of scale, the length of that darker area on the right side of the tracks (Which is a bit of a little cliff.) is about 140 meters from end to end.

Hmm so we need a place with high ground thats inside about 50 meters so I get reasonable accuracy, since I'm prone in a firing position I can spend all my points on aiming my shots as well.

Being prone will also give you an additional +50% bonus, it'll mean you'll have to spend AP to stand back up though. (Which could be problematic in some situations.) So you could afford to be further away, I mean, if you just fire a single burst in a round for 4 AP, I think you can get +150% Accuracy before range penalties and such.

I'm gonna aim for critial spots as well. Heart, head, neck. With 4 points to aim I get 2 shots that should work with 150% accuracy I still have over 100% after penalties.

4 Points of aiming would either be one single shot, or one burst of 3-4 shots. There's no way to get 2 in there.

Don't we have 8 points? Or does firing use points as well?

Of course firing takes Action Points, otherwise you could just unload a full magazine/belt/whatever in a single turn after aiming 4 times.

Oh ok, well then I guess I can try to aim so that a burst hits multiple people. If they have no armor assault rifle rounds have a fair shot of going through a body so maybe I can drop 2 with 1 burst. How many points does firing use?

Maybe if you catch them while those two are busy standing there and hugging each other right in front of you, which certainly isn't an uncommon sight I'd imagine.

In case you don't know about this neat little trick: If you see text like This with the dotted line, mouse over it for a little tooltip.
I do make use of this a lot, usually for things like items, but I think I recall someone mentioning it didn't work for them a long while back - so let me know if it doesn't work for you.

It's be nice to survive the ambush before talking about loot!

Also, I think we maybe need to set up a chat or something. Seems like no one really wants to be involved in the planning phase...except me.
Which I suppose is the weakness of a PbP RPG.
