But you guys haven't seen or heard from Harvey since last night, he never showed up at the Warehouse to join the group.

Well, other than interacting with the other characters:
Provided Harvey is found and the group has no qualms about killing some escaped convicts, that'll surely be a thing to do.

What's the system for damage resistance? is there a minimumm damage you'll always get like in fallout 3, or can attacks be completely ineffective if you have good enough armour?

In a lot of cases there will be a very tiny amount of damage you'll receive regardless, (Usually pretty insignificant though.) though in quite a few others you'll be able to resist them completely. It depends on the armour, the type of attack, etc.

And I guess I might as well clear this up here; You don't have the proper toolset, or really the specific skillset, enough Scrap Metal, or enough time to start making effective armour out of just straight up Scrap Metal.
Especially considering you and the party's current actions and location.

Yeah, it seems to me this game system is at least partially realistic. We'll need to literally set aside some time to construct things-or just stick to small projects until we can get workshop time.

Like, building a scrap helmet would probably be easier, for example. I think.

Well, considering you ran from two members of our party to chat with a pretty girl, and then vanished for the night, we can only make assumptions

All of the extra tools it would take would be a bit much to just be carrying around with you, and to make anything sizable - it's going to take a great amount of time with you sitting around a workbench.
Can't give you much of an estimate because it depends on what the group's doing with that time. (But it'd probably take a couple of days with the Party doing little more than sitting around in a single place to make a full set)
You don't have that kind of access to a workbench right now as well.

So it's the kind of thing best left outsourced to an armourer.

@Pat: Yeah, virtually no one started with armor except for me-since, I suppose, I was the only one who described myself as wearing actual armor in my description? In any case, I'll certainly be the most heavily armored of all of us. Which is good, because I'm the medic. But still, I can't help but feel I was given a minor advantage for the sake of choosing a healer...

Anyway, you got money and friends. I'm sure with our work you could get yourself armored up.
