Deities?
« on: August 30, 2013, 02:39:30 pm »

Yeah, so I climbed this tower and when I reached the top I saw this deity. Should I attack it? When I started a conversation with him it said: "Behold Mortal. I am Githu Knotdemon. I know why you have come." How the fuck does he know why I have come when I don't even know??

Let's put it this way - what do you expect to happen when you attack the deity, especially when his worshippers are around?
How the fuck does he know why I have come when I don't even know??
He's just that good.

Wait, so his name is actually Knotdemon. The demon who is posing as a god needed a disguise, and he thought up Knotdemon? "Hi, I'm Githu Knotdemon. Yup, that's me, totally not a demon."

Demons pose as existing gods. So Knotdemon is the god's name.

So the god "Knotdemon" is a demon? That's ironic. (I think.)

The God Knotdemon chose their own name, knowing this event would happen.
They're a troll.

The most hilarious part is that it sounds like "not demon".

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

Indeed. The God, in turn, knows why the demon has come.

It's like Inception, but with all-knowing entities.

Perhaps Knotdemon(god) appears to it's followers as a demon tied in knots and Knotdemon(demon) is a demon made of knots?

In any case, I think we can agree that a demon posing as a society's god is a very knotty thing to do.

Well in the legends for that world it says he is a human god that usually takes the form of a human. usually. Which explains why it takes the form of a skinless sloth. (not really)
