corridor width

Do dwarves move slower if they are constantly going over top one another? in other words, do i slow my dwarves down by having main hallways only one square wide. i know wagons and such wont go down them, but i dont need them to.

Yes.  Dwarves will lie down to let another pass through the same space, which reduces their movement rate.

I found that 3 works for major hallways and 2 works for smaller offshoots.
