You know what I think the problem was? It lacked star quality. It needed some solid acting to get the crowd going, someone who have delivered quality performances on the microphone. And I think I know just the guy... *hint *hint

On a totally unrelated note, where was my guy? Was he out playing football or dazzling the world with his bright white smile?

I didn't even read all of this, but I want to create a wrestler too! Here's my entry for the last wrestling LP that took place here. It died before it got off the ground though.

EDIT: Oh dear, I have to make stats. Um...you can decide what they are. Just know Gloria is a militant leftist professor in Hidden Agenda, and generally can launch coups against your government.

Can't have everyone every night. I'm actually thinking of expanding the roster yet again. We have the budget room for it, and people get bored seeing the same face every night. Lord knows I'm fucking sick of John Cena IRL.

Yes, nice to see this back! If you're accepting wrestlers again, I had some ideas in the past.

You know, I'm seeing every match "lifted the crowd". Are they supposed to get some payoff from that late in the match, as opposed to always "lifting" them?

That simply means they enjoyed the match. Again, this is a symptom of our popularity still having to catch up to our quality. Remember that despite all we've seen, we're only 4 months in, so we're still a brand new promotion, so people still don't expect the quality we've been putting up.

Alright, another week, another update. Let's just dive right in shall we?

Nothing of interest happens in the two weeks until our show unfortunately, although Jack Euchre (WHo despite being edited, still insists on being called Euchre Jack) did give an interview. Unfortunately my image capture software wasn't working properly, and didn't save the picture. However, he just said that he enjoys the job, so nothing of interest anyway.

However, other than that it was an uneventful two weeks. So, instead let's simply get to the show.

Spoiler: We're getting there (click to show/hide)

So, first off we have our two "dark" matches during the preshow. These exist solely to warm up the crowd a bit, as well as give our lesser talent some experience.

The first real event is a squash match between Peaches and Melvin, Because I really don't like Melvin, and his momentum is so poor getting ruined won't even affect him too much.

Next up is Neonivek and Tyler teaming up to take that bounty offered at the end of next match. Their justification is Tyler is looking to get in with some of the better wrestlers, and Neonivek wants revenge for his defeat last week. For both, the bounty is just a nice bonus.

Segment 4 is Eastman, our Mr McMahon analogue, and owner of BTWF, doing what any good promoter who stars in his own show does; being a complete jackass. He summons Hoster and Jack to the ring, claiming he wants to see who is truely the best fighter. As he says this, the steel cage is lowered over them, and they're told it will be a "Steel Cage Quitters" match. It doesn't end until one of them gives into pain. For curiosity's sake I didn't assign a winner, which IIRC allows the Road Agent to choose.

Then we have the handicap match, where Stoner just barely manages to overcome Neonivek and Tyler. After that he goes to Eastman and demands a match against Stoner, with the unclaimed Title belt on the line. Eastman has no choice but to accept after Stoner has worked his way through half the roster.

So with that in mind, let's see how it actually plays out.

Spoiler:  The Dark Matches (click to show/hide)

So, could be better, could be worse. As these are training matches more than anything, I really can't complain about the result, and they did get the crowd a bit warmed up. Next up is Peaches using Otto as a human rag-doll.

So, not a particularly great rating, but that's why it was set at the beginning. Perhaps that alliance angle will do better?

Spoiler: A New Alliance Formed (click to show/hide)

So, not much to complain about there. As usual Tyler and Neonivek are solid with the microphone, and Nelson gets by on his menace alone. However, the next match isn't that great.

Spoiler: Oliva vs Silencer (click to show/hide)
Another match that is just meh. The fact that we didn't have much heat behind it didn't help either, but it was really just a filler match to begin with. The real meat is coming up.

Spoiler: Ohhhh dear (click to show/hide)
Yes, Kenneth Eastman, our Mr McMahon character... can't play the part well. That's going to be.. problematic. Of course I can't fire myself, so I'll just have to grin and bear it.

Spoiler: And the match itself (click to show/hide)
A complete disaster. The wrestlers got tired, they weren't able to put together a good flow, the fans didn't like hardcore matches to begin with. I''ll admit I really fucked up here. But again, there's a reason risky matches like this aren't ever the main event. Speaking of....

Spoiler: The Main Event (click to show/hide)
So yeah, this match helped make up for the one before it, and moved the "Wrath of Sackman" storyline into it's final leg. Only one thing left in this storyline after all. CHecking the top 100 list, it currently sits as our #3 best match, behind Peaches v Tyler coming in at #2 and Tyler v Powerful Man at #1. So, quite pleased with that

Spoiler: Hype! (click to show/hide)
So, despite the rocky start, we got off to a strong finish at least, and have set things up to wrap up the Stoner v Sackhead storyline. All in all not a great night, but not terrible either. There were several missteps, but that's bound to happen from time to time.

Exactly the same as last week. No I'm not saying exactly the same as in "Yeah pretty close, I mean, EXACTLY THE SAME. Well, at least it wasn't any worse I guess.

And with that, the stage is set for The Big One. Make sure to vote on who you think deserves to win The Big One.

Well, can't you change Eastman's gimmick to be a wrestler, and then let Hoster be our Authority Figure/McMahon? Hoster isn't good at wrestling, but good at talking. And that's what bosses do, right?

Just started reading this today. The funniest part I found is how this game pretty much, up front, tells you "Wrestling is fake you know."
Also seriously amazing there's a game for this. I briefly poked at 2005, but man that UI and interface...

Still, keep it up! It's interesting to read an LP about a "sport" I know basically nothing about. Except that it's totally fake.

Update will be tomorrow. Sorry, got distracted.

EDIT: Apologies, but the thing that came up Saturday that got me distracted lasted into Monday. Personal matters involving money. It's all sorted now, so the next scheduled update will take place at it's usual time.

DOUBLE EDIT: Sorry sorry, college stuff is getting in the way, expect a midweek update or an update next Saturday at the very latest. Running in circles right now getting things set for next semester.

EDIT Three: Damn. Myimgur isn't working, so until the new version is out, so we're still on hiatus. If the new version isn't out in a few days, I'll have to find a new hosting method. If anyone knows any screen capture + auto upload programs that keep the images up for a long time, and DON'T require the app to be DirectX/OpenGl, please PM me with that.

*poke*

I usually use Gadwin Printscreen, which just makes the printscreen button (or whatever you bind it to) save a screenshot to a file location instead of putting it on the clipboard. Then I just upload stuff to Imgur via the website, manually.
