That glorious feeling when..
« on: August 29, 2013, 08:09:17 am »

The Caravan arrives, followed immediately by an undead siege of 160 cold bodies, and the merchants, charmers that they are, deal with the three necromancers among them, permitting a smooth and easy clean up of the many, MANY bodies and body parts.

The only loss; The caravan, and one hapless engraver who decided on a spot of fresh air.

I love this game.

When your favorite solider has every bone broken, both their lungs damaged and heavily bleeding and the doctors were able to completely heal them

This is DF.  The concept 'good idea' and the concept 'safe' do not belong together in the same sentence.

Caravans are great executioners.  I've started lining my entrance ways with chained prisoners, pretty easy way of passive prisoner disposal.  Outdoors too!  No miasma.

Genius.  I now have a better means of executing vampires than trapping them in one-square rooms with lever-linked spike traps.

Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Only the ladder wall is real. The climb is all there is.

Even those who complety kills your military full of legendaries wearing full candy suits and wielding artifact platinum warhammers? Plus most of citizens, pets and such, only be suddenly ripped to half by lonely drooling nose picking kid...

Was it a blob made of snow or vomit or some other weak material? Those don't have any body parts to attack with, so they have to 'push'. Unfortunately for your dwarves, this means that the attack has not just the weight of a leg or arm behind it, but the whole weight of the FB.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

It was a humanoid made of grime, with deadly spit. I panicked when I saw it, because I had no idea it would be so weak. The kid got to him before my military could.

Clearly, it was forgotten because it was a notoriously poor monster.

I like to have a firing squad.  Get a room, carve one side wall into fortifications, then create a 1-tile wide path beyond that.  Chain up the prisoners, move the marksdwarves behind the fortifications, lock the door to that path, and then get them to [k]ill the prisoners.  Trains them up quickly, and if the prisoners are armed and armoured, they block shots too, which increases experience for the shooters.  Also works well with a melee squad, which can mob around the chain and level up!

Dwarf prisoners have to be released from mechanically linked cages, though.

When elves bring breeding pair of trainable bears. I like to supplement my military dogs with bears, or other large animals.

I probably shouldn't ask this, but can you disembowel someone with a blunt weapon?
