Alexei rubbed his temples yet again before putting his travel bag over his shoulder and moving on, waving for Darius to follow him in a way not unlike an owner calling for his oblivious dog. "We'll find a place to stay for the night then we'll search for that order during the day. You'll get a room by mine, but try not to escape and disappear." he said to the sentient suit of plate as he walked out of the train.

His mind turned to trying and figuring out what exactly was that Order he mentioned. The Inquisition or something along those lines? He remembered a few members of a branch family of the Kessler having trouble with inquisitors once and they didn't seem to be the type to be leaving animated suits of armor inside other people's houses as pranks. He'd still look for them first, of course.

Look for a hotel for the night, Darius gets a room right by Alexei's.

Roland sits in the cab, staring outside as the sights pass by. "Best not fuck up my first impressions. I think inquisitors are quite happy to carry grudges" He rubs his scarred arm, more out of nervousness than out of pain. "I wonder what a High inquisitor looks like. Does the inquisition have uniforms or something? I can't quite remember...I hope they won't make me wear a cape or anything silly"

Wait until we arrive. Go where I am directed to go. Be polite and businesslike at all times.

Midnight, docks. How many days was it until the appointment? Either this night or the one after that. He wasn't quite sure. Would be nice if he could remember that.

Seriously. The dead of the night? It was the time of the criminals, yes, so it was logical. Then again, this sort of timing issue was one of the things that made him quit. Eh, well, take a break would be better wording, in retrospective. But a man needed his beauty sleep. Either during night, or at the afternoon, and it looked like he wasn't going to get either, which was sure to pay its toll the morning after. He shuddered imagining the state of his hair after all that... as he wouldn't have time, money or a hairdresser of trust to restore it to its current pristine state. Even though he'd been growing out his hair for more than four years, his skills with the comb still weren't anything much above passable.

And also, Republic of Var. Docks, sure. Classic criminal area. Republic of Var, though? Perhaps there was a serious heist about to go down here, and they needed his talents for some reason - why him, actually? Crisco didn't doubt that there was a more skilled criminal Ice Mage around somewhere, and the sort of nebulous organization that was probably behind this disturbance would have no trouble locating him, either. This smelled fishy. Again, docks. Shouldn't be a surprise.

...well, he had some time. Time to see the sights.

Drop off baggage. Scout dock area, get a feel for basic layout and such. Then proceed to actually go for some more pleasant sight-seeing.

A little bit further in the train you see some old man with a cane, his hair and beard are a little bit messy but he is dressed quite stylish. The cane is also very well made and clearly a sign of the highest craftsmanship.

((OLD MAN? Jeremus is TWENTY FIVE.  >:())

Jeremus checks his belongings quickly, as there isn't much left of them. He then looks over toward the girl who seems to be looking for something. As it's the trains stop, he gets up and limps over to her and asks if he can help her find something.

I kindly request that every player will post his first possible action in the color he wants his speech to be. This is to make conversations between each other and NPC's easier to read. There may be only 1 of each color, so no Bolded green while there is a green already. Another note is that your color should be easy readable, because yellow may be easy readable with the dark forum skin, but it's a horror to read with the regular skin.

Finally black and white are not eligible colors that the players may choose.

Errol (Crisco Diamond)

And the first thing he needed was some sort of place to crash. Probably a cheaper one. He was on a budget, here.

Locate cheap, sufficiently secure hotel/accomodations that won't ask too many questions, somewhere in the general docks area, and rent a room for two nights. Get a feeling for the layout of the docks while at it.
(-) With the hotel out of the way you go out to explore the city and memorize it a bit.You start walking towards the city center, the closer you get the higher the buildings seems to be, but they are spread out more so its more lighted than near your hotel. Underway you see a gunstore, some markets, 'herbalists', drug dealers, mafia, clothing stores, dance clubs, underground bars, car maintenance and some industrial buildings. You spotted some things which a regular person wouldn't, atleast if he weren't involved in the crimeworld.

You wouldn't be surprised if you got mugged, but it wouldn't end very well for the mugger.

BFEL (Jeremus Springs)
A little bit further in the train you see some old man with a cane, his hair and beard are a little bit messy but he is dressed quite stylish. The cane is also very well made and clearly a sign of the highest craftsmanship.

((OLD MAN? Jeremus is TWENTY FIVE.  >:())

Jeremus checks his belongings quickly, as there isn't much left of them. He then looks over toward the girl who seems to be looking for something. As it's the trains stop, he gets up and limps over to her and asks if he can help her find something.
(-) You grab your bag and head to the exit, underway you see the girl.
"Saw you looking inside, looking for something?"
"No, just looking around."
"Ah i see."

You leave the train. It actually looks better than you've expected, it look's like a modern-futureish city. It's reasonably clean though the crowds are quite large. But your goal is not in the city center, it's somewhere at the edge. You walk towards a city map to plan your route, underway you hear and see a couple of ads advertising that public transportation is free of charge. You don't hesitate in using it as it saves hours of traveling time.
Not long after you find yourself at the described location of the tablet. Looking around you see a couple of telltale signs of a rune puzzle. You aren't too worried about the puzzle itself, you are worried about the effect it causes if you mess up. It's a sequence puzzle, and actually...one you remember. You activate the runes in a specific order only to find out that you miss one. Until you see a carved out shape in the form of the tablet, it can't be more obvious than this so you shove the tablet into it.
The markings on the tablet change into the final rune you have to activate, which you do.

The runes fade immideatly followed by the wall opening up to reveal a door, it's dark but there are torches hung on the walls. You walk inside and grab one of the torches, while the door closes itself.

----

Pancaek (Roland Murphy)
Roland sits in the cab, staring outside as the sights pass by. "Best not fuck up my first impressions. I think inquisitors are quite happy to carry grudges" He rubs his scarred arm, more out of nervousness than out of pain. "I wonder what a High inquisitor looks like. Does the inquisition have uniforms or something? I can't quite remember...I hope they won't make me wear a cape or anything silly"

Wait until we arrive. Go where I am directed to go. Be polite and businesslike at all times.
(-)The cab stops at what looks like a Roman styled Courthouse. There are people everywhere, but no that you'd think are inquisitors. To be honest some of these people look strange, dressed in weird clothing. Probably trouble-makers.

You casually walk inside, needlesly to say it's huge inside, there is also a lot of artwork and masonry involved with marble. The people haven't really changed, there are just lesser here but more which are dressed in official clothing. No capes so far..

You approach the counter.
"Ah hello, which appointment are you here for?" asks the lady. She is a little bit younger than you are and properly dressed in official clothing.
"I have an apointment with Alrond Var?" You ask with a question-like tone.
She shifts a bit with her holographic computer.
"Ah yes, indeed. Welcome to the Inquisiton Roland Murphy, please follow me. I will guide you to his office. "She walks in a medium-pace, meanwhile you look around at the artwork. You actually can relate some of these from stories you've red or heard
"One thing Mr.Roland, since you haven't had any contact with a inquisitor before then our policies might surprise you. Also people which meet our head are surprised as well."
"What do you mean?"
"Well... have you noticed those strangely dressed people?"
"Yeah, like that guy with green and pink spiked colored hair and rainbow colored scarf."
"Yes. She's an judge or inquisitor if you call them that. She's called Pristine and its a she."
Wait... what?
"Ah here we are, please go inside. Alrond Var is waiting."

Confused you walk inside. It's a very large office. On the sides there are marble statues, at the end there is a large desk with a red carpet leading from the entrance to just before it. There are 2 leather chairs before the desk and one behind the desk. There is someone in the chair, but its turned around towards the large window behind the desk. The window has a view on the canyon.
You go to one of the chairs and sit. A minute or so passes and he still hasn't turned around.

"Hello?"
Still no response.
You ask again, but still no response. You decide for a third time but with a raised voice this time.

"Hello?!"
The person turns around.

Oh pardon me, didn't hear you.". Alrond Var is what seems to be a 17 year old teen. He has medium blond scruffy hair and light-green eyes. He's wearing headphones from the brand Duckky which are known for their high quality headphones, and is wearing a black short hoodie ( with the rest as well of course so pants,shoes,etc.).

"I'm Alrond Var, high inquisitor and half lord of The Republic of Var. I've invited you here to become a part of the Inquisition, however before i get to that part do you have any questions for me?"

(You can ask a whole bunch of questions and i will try to fit it together, unless you HAVE to know an answer before your next question because then i will create a mini-turn with the answer.)

Dwarmin (Gerald Blue)
Gerome hefted his shoulder bag, taking in the brisk air of Var. Quite bracing!

He decided on a quick lunch-then he needed to find a tourists office that would guide him in the direction of the monks. He honestly had no other leads.

Action: After a quick lunch, need to find a tourist kiosk for a guide up to Mt. Shu to find the monks.
(-) You eat a quick lunch in the "Marble palm" a small bistro. The food there was.. unique. The combination of spices gave an interesting taste and surprsingly the price wasn't high. After the lunch you find a rather big tourist center and learn that they don't organize trips to MT.Shu often as the cost is too high for the equipment needed, though you can reach a village just under the mountain by traversing the mountains either by glider, hillbuggy or foot.
The difference between the choices is the price and the time it takes to reach the village. With glider being the fastest and foot the slowest. Though glider is the most dangerous as the winds are very unpredictable.

Sarzael (Kyne Cainthalsaz )
(Guessing New Deliria and Delirium re same site?)

´´Oh! It seems we are already here. I almost forgot why i am on this train after all.``
I proceed to collect my things and stick to the window until train is full stop, then get out and take a look around.

(-) (Yes)
You can hear Gorgoth speaking in your mind. "Kyne, where is this?"
"New Delirium"
"Oh that place, is it this time again? Maybe.... Anyhow, Kyne whatever it is that you're searching for its outside the city."
"How do yo.... Nevermind." Asking Gorgoth is like asking a brick wall, you don't get any useful answers. He once told that he cannot tell you whatever he knows, as it has a price... A price which i apparantly cannot fullfill yet.
Looking around you see that public transportation is free. You make use of this and find yourself quickly just outside the city near a bridge. You can go back into the city to see what's up or you can follow the road into the distant oak forest.

Caellath (Alexei Kessler)

(-)You need a place to sleep, so you take a walk and see if there are any nearby hotels. While looking around a question arises.
"Does Darius even need to sleep, eat or drink?", you wonder about it for a while and ask Darius.
He responds with. "No, but it's hard to explain. Like when i'm hungry, i suddenly am not anymore, same with drinking and sleeping. So i think that my metalic body doesn't carry any needs which a biological body would. I do feel pain though but  weaker than normal i believe."

"Aha."
This means that you won't have to get 2 rooms, breakfast, lunch or anything else for him. You won't feel very comfortable with him being right next to you though, but you think that you can lock him in a cabinet or something.

You find a decent hotel and rent a room, luckily there is a cabinet with a hoover and some cleaning materials. The rest of the day passes fast as you lock Darius in the cabinet. He doesn't feel hated or lonely as he understands your reason for doing it.

Perhaps long ago, Gerald was afraid of death-but, no longer. He's not sure if he's failing some mystical test already-man who not have Patience crash into cliff top, perhaps? But, he doesn't really care...it sounds fun. And, maybe a small challenge.

"Gliding? Sounds fun." He says with a charming smile.

Action: Take the glider to the village. If possible, modify my body to be generally athletic.

((My intention for renting two rooms was being a reasonably nice guy. Also, to prevent being strangled during the night, just in case.))

"Well, no clues, no nothing. And to top it off I still have a life to attend to." Alexei grumbled as he took Darius to the streets. The young man was frustrated with the situation, having acted as fast as he could but being hindered by a lack of further clues. "Let's walk around the city. Maybe something else will pop on your memories or we'll find that order you mentioned."

Walk around New Delirium with Darius in search of clues.

Well - with that out of the way, should really get going to the nicer parts of town. Since I'm already here - let's be touristic!

Touristically do some tourism in the no-doubt touristically interesting central city. Time to see the sights!
(-) You happen to overhear some other tourists that the city centre is nothing compared to the world-class trade freighter which is parked in the harbor. World-class trade freighters are with no doubt the biggest trade ships humanity has ever constructed.

You visit the harbor and are astounded by the size of the ship. You also see that it’s an open museum! Awestruck you enter the museum and spend an entire day sightseeing.

Afterwards you’ve learned a whole lot about the ship itself. The ship is called Prometheus, with an size of 876m long and 125 m wide it’s the smallest of the 4 world-class freighters. However Prometheus is the first world-class freighter ever made and was used for a total of 46 years before it was put out of commission due to structural weakness caused by the numerous mana-storms it survived.

It’s slowly turning into nighttime, tomorrow's the day of the meeting. You have no idea of what to expect so getting a good night’s sleep might prove invaluable before making preparations.

BFEL (Jeremus Springs)
Jeremus continues his trek into the secret passage.

((Also I gotta ask....THE TEEN ORDER? WUT?))
(-)

“It’s dark” you think. The torch illuminates the pitch black passage, but it would be absolutely terrifying without light. The air is very humid and warm, making breathing somewhat troublesome but bearable.

Time passes and you have no idea for how long, it feels like hours have flown by and yet you are still traversing the endless passage.

“Maybe it was a trick?
What if it was a trap made by them? Will i die a slow and painful death in the darkness?”

Grim thoughts cloud your mind until you see a small dim light in the far distance. Finally an exit! You wonder how the guild lives but those thoughts disappeared equally fast as you walk up the stairs. The air becomes dry and the heat increase even more.

Looking around reveals a landscape that you wouldn’t want to imagine, you could describe it as ‘hellish’. Dark red skies with ash-colored clouds, lifeless plains with burnt to char trees and the occasional wildfire in the distance.

Your observing stops as you hear a rumbling sound from behind. Turning around welcomes you to an unpleasant sight,

A horned demon standing on the collapsed entrance, staring at you. The demon has a V shaped head with a small jaw, it’s bulky upper body show that the demon is quite strong, however it has small and thin legs meaning that mobility is not its strongest characteristic.
Further looking at the legs it seems that the beast most likely moves with the help of its arms.

“Human. You have come to the wrong place if you intended to live.”

You will have to fight this thing, but there is no way that you can beat it with your current understand of magic. Nervously looking around you see a rather interesting thing.

A runestone and around it grass and a couple of flowers. It seems that whatever magic the runestone is emitting, the demons cannot touch it. That’s your only hope if you intend to live.

The demon is still not attacking but it won’t stay that for long, you have to act…fast.

Pancaek (Roland Murphy)

Link to Conversation between Roland and Alrond Var

You enter the armory. Looking around a giant greets you. Well probably not a giant, but this guy is huge and muscled beyond your comprehension.

“A new judge..Older than those kids?”
“Yes, seems like it/”
“And now you need some gear.”
“That’s right.”
“This is how it will go. I will give you your basic outfit and tools. You will then change into your outfit and meet me in the VR-room. There you will try out a variety of weapons and fight some drones, after you finish your trials i will hand over the weapon of your choice. Once you have chosen a weapon type, that will be your weapon type forever in this order.

With that i mean, that i will only supply you Axes if you chose axes as your weapon. You can still use any weapon that you find. Understood?”

You nod.
He walks through the alleys of weapon racks, systematically picking the equipment he’s looking for. 12 minutes pass and he comes back with a small heap of equipment.

“Here you go bud”, he says as he hands over the equipment.
“Thanks, anyway how are you called?”
“Me? Except the Gaint,Quartermaster or Weaponkeeper. I’m called Bago and you judge?.”

“I’m Roland, ex-cop. But il go and get changed.”

Bago gave you a judge badge, cross necklace, Lighter, small law-book, In-Ear headset, Black leather trench coat, White Dress shirt, Black military boots with steel padding and grip and a pair of Dark blue jeans. Classy.

In your new suit you go back to Bago.
“Why isn’t everybody wearing their suits?”
“Some consider it unsafe and some just don’t care. Puts a big target on your head and a warning for local crime lords. You aren’t obliged to wear it at all, however you must have the cross necklace and badge with you at all times.

Follow me, we’re going into the VR.”

Bago leads you to a large chamber which is entirely white, he then summons a holographic keyboard and starts the simulation.

The room transforms into a large abandoned warehouse.

“Which weapons would you like to try out.. Roland?”

Dwarmin (Gerald Blue)
Perhaps long ago, Gerald was afraid of death-but, no longer. He's not sure if he's failing some mystical test already-man who not have Patience crash into cliff top, perhaps? But, he doesn't really care...it sounds fun. And, maybe a small challenge.

"Gliding? Sounds fun." He says with a charming smile.

Action: Take the glider to the village. If possible, modify my body to be generally athletic.
(4+1=5!Success!) You rent a glider with the last of your money, you will have to give it back upon landing near Mt.Shu. If you land anywhere else, do it at your own risk.
To fly a bit more comfortably you morph your body. You do this in a isolated place as it’s rather unpleasant to watch but it also feels horrible for the user. You morph your body and cringe slightly in pain as your figure changes into an professional athlete body.

You perform some stretching exercises to get used to your new body. You come back to the glider rental and fly away. Some people looked at you in a strange way, no wonder.

There is a soft breeze and the weather is clear, the sun occasionally shines through the clouds and in the distance you can see Mt.Shu watching over the clouds. Ideal gliding conditions.

You will arrive at the village in the next turn unless you decide to explore. Exploring will result in a mini-turn,delayed arrival and maybe fun!

Sarzael (Kyne Cainthalsaz )
´´I have always wanted to visit Delirium, and a rest would do no bad``

Have an walk around the city and search a site to rest during the night, preferably cheap and/or free.
(-) You tour the city for any interesting things. You quickly see that the city is preparing itself for the Clash of steel tournament, a tournament where automatons battle out for prizes. The Arenas are currently open for public view and participants to practice.

You spot a dozen or so shops, but one stands out amongst them all. A potion brewery. The shop is located in a corner and there aren’t many people walking in there but it looks interesting.

You enter the shop and see everything that a regular person would deem as strange and unusual ingredients. Through the window you can see all kinds of goodies like Eldersworn Crickets, Firelizard Tails, potions.

Highly interesting, but unfortunately it’s closed for today. The sky darkens and it’s starts raining, you remember seeing an cheap hotel not far from the arena. You hurry there under the rain which slowly intensifies into heavier rain.

Wet you enter the hotel and rent a room for the night, you freshen yourself up by taking a nice warm shower and making yourself comfy in the bed.

Caellath (Alexei Kessler)
((My intention for renting two rooms was being a reasonably nice guy. Also, to prevent being strangled during the night, just in case.))

"Well, no clues, no nothing. And to top it off I still have a life to attend to." Alexei grumbled as he took Darius to the streets. The young man was frustrated with the situation, having acted as fast as he could but being hindered by a lack of further clues. "Let's walk around the city. Maybe something else will pop on your memories or we'll find that order you mentioned."

Walk around New Delirium with Darius in search of clues.
(-) Your usual morning routine goes unhindered and you leave the hotel earlier than you expected.

“It all changed so much.” Darius says
You kinda listen to him but wait for anything useful, which might help you to find answers.

“Yes, i remember that. A big event. An event where steel clashes. Where the best rise.” Darius mumbles while he watches a poster.

The poster advertises the annual ‘Clash of Steel’, a tournament created for owners with automatons to battle it out for prizes and more. It seems that participation is still open.

“I don’t remember much, but i feel that i will remember more when i fight there. Will you be my lord?”

Quote
Lord: The name of an automaton owner. They are called lords because automatons are a very high quality product usually unobtainable by the poor and are thus a product fit for the rich or military.

“Yes, i will.”
This might turn out fun, you remember cheering for some automatons when you were a bit younger. After all, you also agreed to help Darius.

You both head to New Delirium’s Sporting Hall, refurbished for the amateur tournament specifically there are banners everywhere. The crowd fills up with automatons as you make your way to the entrance.

A quick registration followed by an inspection is something you expected. You are told to wait in the room, however the waiting doesn’t last long.

“I’m Shenyu, junior automaton technician. I will take a look at your automaton and bind you to him specifically for this tournament to prevent any forms of cheating.”

“What do you mean with cheating?”
“In the past it happened that the person controlling the automaton or influencing, wasn’t the person standing in the arena but someone in the crowd or outside. You can compare it to someone playing under someone’s elses name.”

“A pro in a amateur tournament?”

“Yeah, something like that. Anyhow how is he/she named?”
“Darius and it’s a he.”
He scribbles something on his notepad.
“So what kind of magic can Darius use?”

You ponder, but you have no idea.
“I..ii don’t know.”
“Ah, it happens. Depending on the manufacturer it’s not always easy to discover the element. Let me check.”

Shenyu sticks a small paper on Darius and casts a spell. The paper detaches from Darius and floats to the ground. The paper hits the ground and it transforms into a bluish spirit which promptly evaporates.

“This is odd…. This shouldn’t be possible.”
What is he talking about?
Shenyu scribbles furiously on his notepad, mumbling occasionally to himself.

“Whats your name?”
“Alexei Kessler”
“Oh, I remember the name. Your family used to run a gun industry right? Anyhow, Alexei. I don’t know how or why you got this. But this is not an automaton.”

“What is it then?”
You already kinda realized that Darius wasn’t an automaton, but you had no idea where to put him.

“In Artificial Magic Science, he is something that we’ve been trying to create for a long time. A soul bound to an armor, instead of an Artificially created magic core bound to an armor. Our calculations and theories are all correct, but so far every attempt resulted in an magic overload. He is an Artificial Human.

Who made this? Where did you get him? What was the cost?”

“That is fascinating i must say, but i don’t know who made him or how much he costs. What i can say is that i found him in my property in one of my father’s old armor collection armor. He just appeared and it seems that he doesn’t know how he got summoned, because of his vivid memories.

However it seems that he remembers things when he does certain things or visits certain places. So i’m helping him to figure out why he is here, but also to figure out why he appeared in my house.”

“That’s an odd story, but ill believe it considering the odd circumstances. Listen Alexei, i will keep in touch with you because of this situation. This is something that must be researched as it may dawn a new era.

But i need to finish bounding you first. ”

He gives you a black glove.

“Put it on an touch Darius at the source of his magic.”

You take off Darius’s helmet and touch the rune. Magic light carves rune signs onto your glove and Darius’s armor.

At the base of the glove you can read: “Alexei Kessler, lord of Darius the alchemist.”
“But Darius isn’t an alchemist.”

“He isn’t, but i need to put something there and a spirit mage will not make the situation better.”
“Spirit mage?”

“Yes. Spirit magic was a magic type theorized only to be usable by those which souls have traversed death and came back. It’s a summoning type of magic highly comparable to alchemy but without the equivalence part. But that’s all we know about, since there are no recorded spirit mages.”

Hmm, a summoner?
“But i’m done here, i have to hurry and research this. You are now free to make use of the training facilities within the arena to strengthen yourselves before the tournament. The tournament begins in 7 days.

Good luck.”
