Common, were are mad science?

11. Develop lighter breastplates using Auftriebium boosted alloys
12. Develop bullet proof horse armor using the same alloys
13. Develop Flanteium  hand grandes to be carried by cavalry
14. Develop drugs that will make horses stronger
Who needs tanks when we can have an epic cavalry?

E. Invest in horse breading facilities , try to create new, stronger horses

No one said that we should use only cavalry, but turning cavalry in light tanks is a viable way to develop

Besides horse is a quite small target comparing to a tank

walkers are fine as you can get round the square-cube law at a cost in unobtanium.
And in the case of walkers vs tanks a cost in armor and guns in exchange for speed compared to a tank of the same size.
Your air ships willl be with use Helium for safety.

Wait, walkers are faster than tanks?

I call bullshit. More maneuverable, able to go on more terrain, yes. Faster? No.

Anyway. I'm still considering. I'd like to get some heavily armored infantry, preferably with something t make them jump/jet-pack a long ways, and armored enough that they can get into melee and start ripping people into small pieces.

Eh, I'd veto melee. If hey can tear people up in close quarters with super strength, then they can use it to heft in larger guns instead. MUCH more efficient. And horses are also a much softer target Ukrainian, a machine gun would likely chew through them regardless, and I wouldn't want to be the poor bastard that uses those grenades you suggest, the blast radius probably has the user in it after it's thrown :P

We have helium,]? Because IIRC, the US(and world supplies) for helium were sufficient for only 1 single airship at this point in time. And for the next decade, that'll probably remain the case.

Also, alenium is basically super nitroglycerin. Increased blast, and increased volatility. There's a not insignificant change the grenades 'll have exploded before being thrown.

Im for airships. Afterall, we can just float over lines if we felt like it.

So yes, After makeing that first airship make one that can carry three Hotchkisses in a v format as well as twenty troops.
also get working of paper-case bombs.

Armor is whatever we make the hull out of, the +'s at the back are rear loading doors. Power would be four lightweight engens in pods along the sides of the envelope. The bit I have drawn here is perhaps 45 meters long,10 wide. pods would be 5 or meters long, two or three wide. The whole thing should be no greater than 33 meters wide or 99 long.

Do note, that as resilient as an airship might be, it's not going to survive an encounter with enemy anti aircraft artillery. (Note: It's going to survive, but not enough of it to ever fly again.)

Airships are actually pretty tough to shoot down from the ground, unless they are very low. The winds at high altitudes can easily deviate anti-air projectiles by several miles. The purpose of AA is less to snipe the planes out of the sky, but to fill the air with clouds of shrapnel to tear oncoming aircraft to bits.


Plus, I agree with rolepgeek. Tanks are actually fairly fast - even the heavily armoured ones can cover ground at speeds in excess of 20 mph, and most medium to lights were capable of reaching 30 or 40 at top speed.
