damage calculator tells me after a shellsmash, there is a 81% chance of a OHKO on that heatran still, with razor shell. dealing 96%-115% damage depending on RNG




if you want to counter cloyster, my best bet would be Rotom-W with a choice-scarf (and trick to remove the choice scarf again later)


Another option is jellicent, which can first proceed to burn cloyster making the attack boost moot, and then kill it with gigadrain


Slowbro can easily deal with shellsmash cloyster, and Keldeo has some hope against it too


A defensive Jirachi also counters cloyster really well




Heatran is really not an optimal option, however, still a really good option overall, if cloyster is no problem.

man, this team packs a PUNCH. So much more dangerous than the first one. When salamence started busting out fire-blasts, my heart stopped, thinking GG, I am fucked now. It seems I very much underestimated the bulk of tropius. I was genuinely suprised

for an NU, Tropius appears to be an EXCELLENT subseeder. That is my first team using Tropius, thinking oh well, double weak to ice, weak to fire and rock, surely this one will only be able to substall to bring down enemies walls, and then bam, it survives fireblast from salamence.

the main reasons I lost were that I thought I was using special infernape,I didn't know anything about ampharos,and who uses explosion an a special sweeper

well, I did post my entire team including stats and moves here in the thread. As for special or physical infernape, I prefer playing mine mixed. It its harder when only specialised on one side, but it becomes exceedingly hard to do anything about it

and hey, especialy if you know thaz you won't be able to take another hit, explosion usualy deals more damage than a special attack, even on a special attacker
