Culise v. ICBM Pilot.  Ah, Speed Boost Blaziken, and now we all remember why you are in Ubers.  I completely underestimated it, and paid the appropriate prices for lack of priority or Stealth Rocks. ^_^

It definitely does at that.  It even took out Latias in a single hit with an ineffective attack, which I didn't expect.  That definitely was amusing.

Max Speed and Special Attack, but I actually went and found a calculator after the fact and found out that it didn't actually matter.  A Blaziken with one Swords Dance under the sun and holding a Life Orb can OHKO a max-HP or a max-DEF Latias, and scrapes a Latias that's invested all its EVs in both HP and DEF down to the wire.  I knew it ranked among my favourite starters for a reason. ^_^

EDIT: Culise v. scapheap.  Entry hazards plus forced switches would have been a dangerous tactic to my SR-weak team if I hadn't gotten lucky with some of those misses and Rapid Spins.

Yes. Unless you would like to put it to a vote to unban Kyurem-B and ban Blaziken, which I'd find somewhat unfair, as without Speed Boost it's a moderately good sweeper.

I'm not saying it necessarily needs to be completely banned, but obviously one of the players is using it with Speed Boost. Could we at least have ICBM change it to Blaze?

Kyurem-B is just an exams though; it's fine to be banned, I suppose, though it'd be nice if plain old regular Kyurem wasn't, since it has lower overall stats and I can only presume a smaller movepool, as well as a poor ability in comparison.

I probably won't use it, partially because I'm terrible at building teams when there's so many options, but still.

We should tell everyone our various usernames. Or at least some of them. That way, we can contact each other outside of scheduled tournaments for discussion or casual battles.

When I'm just testing teams on Showdown!, I'm generally listed as 'Kindler (something)'. There might be other people that do that, but I haven't run into any.  :P I think my current test accounts are Kindler Jeff and Kindler Bernie.

why am I not listed as a participant in this round, I PMd you my team. Should I post it here?


I am still just using team edible (ampharos replacing unfezant, and breloom replacing amoongus), because it would be a shame to waste a perfectly good team. And with my biggest opponent Barbarossa going with a NU team, I would feel kinda bad if I went full competitive mode against all the beginners. They should not have to worry about my Terrakion.

also, from what I know, Kyurem-Black ended up in OU, because appearantly it's move-pool is not quite up to par. It has GIGANTIC physical attack, however, it has a mostly special movepool. Meanwhile Kyurem white has special attack, and thus can capitalize well on it's movepool, which is identical to kyurem black.


why anyone would think that a pokemon with 170 base attack and 95 speed STAB outrage would be fine in OU, I have no idea. I suspect it might be due to the poor defensive typing, and the abundance of rock, steel and fighting attacks on fast sweepers in OU. Terrakion and Scizor take kyurem-B apart with ease.


edit: why is ICBM using a speedboost blaziken? Judging from the replay vs Culise, Culise was not informed that this was going to be a speedboost one beforehand. If we are going to play OU, then we should stick to OU, and use the non-uber version of blaziken. Ubers should only be allowed if the opponent is strictly agreeing that it's fine, pre battle
