I've been putting this off for a while, since the second post or so, and haven't actually written much. The game seems in danger of starting, though...so I rush. And I still don't know what to do about the Techs.

Seems alright. Can I assume the battleship is fully equipped with laser weaponry?
Yeah.

10ebbor10, what is the default level of the capital? Level 3?

Not entirely sure how this will work out. Maybe the "government" will be the strongest corps in combination with the prophet? I don't know.

oops, need to edit some things.
Ok the planets have been fleshed out BY ALOT. SERIOUSLY ALOT. I FLESHED THE UTTER CRAP OUT OF THOSE PLANETS.
Also I got the hilarious idea to use my fleet points on a World Ship, because seriously, SPECIALIZATION.

At start, and depending on the traits you choose, your empire is probably fairly small. It'll consist of a few planets, probably in the same system, a small fleet, and have basic technologies. A basic empire has 20 customization points, 1 capital planet, 2 Colonial outposts, 2 military and 1 civilian techs and 50 command points worth of fleet.
Given this, who has colonies that they haven't paid for?
Sorry bout that, I kinda posted before I thought that all the way through.

Indeed, I do this.

Cool. Will be watching, see how these battles pan out. Any chance I could play some minor role in helping out?

So we got

a) Dedicated space merchants
b) Balanced race
c) Adaptable expansionists
d) Navy power
e) Ground combat specialists
f) Industrialists with high quality ships

Interesting mix.

Well shit.
Looks like I revamped my post into a practical novel for nothing.

Ah well, I'm kinda swamped with crap on Bay12 anyway :P
