Unfortunately the outer walls of the buildings themselves had no mosaics. The stone-laying technique - as much as Fezz could recognize through all the moss - was archaic, but similar to that from before the Wars. This castle must be older than the Wars period by at least few centuries.

@Aleciera:

Ciera - and Alec - now had a splendid view on the bizarre pattern of murky water that formed a spiral, centered at a large, bloated tree.

That tree was oozing murky, greenish goo.

The tree was also pulsating.

: "I think 'Moe' is the sound an adorable calf makes when it's not old and hardened enough to moo. Just like Grif! D'awwwwww"

"...Wait, this can't be right." The historian pulled off some of the moss on the wall, trying to get a better look at the stone and construction. "No... It is?" He stood there for a few moments in silent shock, staring at the wall.

Slowly he started to lift off the ground as Fezz clinched his hands and did a fist pump that almost sent him sideways in the air. "HAH! Oh my dragon I can't believe it, these walls predate the magic wars! I haven't seen anything like this in-in years! Years! Easily the best preserved ruins from that time I've seen, amazing!" The man largely exclaimed at himself as he couldn't wait to investigate more.

"_{grrrRRrRrrRRR}RRrrUuullll..." A black shade have emerged from the wall and swiped at Fezz with black, transculent claws! Only by some divine luck Fezz got a scratch on the cheek instead of torn-out throat. He managed to harm the shadowy thing in retaliatory strike, too.
