: "Hell, if they're still chewing on spiders, he might even be privy to a favor for a little help. Don't quote me on that, though."

"Well, the situation seemed to be under control for the most part, so I decided to scout the back, just to make sure there's nothing we're missing."

She hesitated and then asked,

"Uhm, how are you holding up? You... you didn't get hurt, did you? Or... or anyone else I mean. I was off scouting and wasn't... around."

: "Don't even worry. They didn't really even lay a hand- er, appendage on us."

"Ah! That's good then! Well most of the spiders there were dead. Hopefully the battle will be over soon and the Imperials will be nice and we can get out of here without anything bad happening."

She smiled at Alec, glad that he hadn't been hurt. Her mind flashed back to their hug and the whispered words... Perhaps soon she would feel brave enough to say them to his face.

Leo nodded to Alec rather than interrupt his and Ciera's conversation, then made his way to 13-8.

Seeing they were mostly alone at this point, Ciera landed Mazin near Alec, and smiled shyly at him.

"I uhm... I know this isn't the time really for private conversations but..."

She hesitated. Maybe this was a mistake. But Sheila seemed to know what she was talking about and maybe she was right. And... sword and shield, right? She needed to be more confident. Maybe this was just the next step.

"I... Next time we have some quiet... can... can we talk?"

Alec's eyebrow shot up for a moment, but he retained his composure. He stood thinking for a couple moments before speaking.
: "Yeah. I wanted to ask you a couple things when I had the chance."

"Yo.... you do? What... Uhm, I guess that can wait. It's... it's nothing bad though, right?"

Alec looked slightly taken aback.
: "Bad? Er- well, it's... more of a curiosity than anything else, I guess."
: "It's just that I wanted to know a little more about you, is all."

"Oh. Ok. I can answer those sorts of questions. I wouldn't mind getting to know a bit more about you either."

One left. I wonder why the spiders moved into the open like that--they usually utilize webs to ensnare their prey, and they're not the jumping type either.
