: "Yeah, kinda. Like I said, I'm not from around here and I don't know anyone. Never been a mercenary either, so...yeah." A sudden thought struck her.

: "Oh custard! I forgot to go make sure those two were okay! I'm sorry, gotta go."

Grifen quickly waved at Efa with an apologetic "sorry I can't introduce myself" expression and moved over to Fezz, who seemed a little out of sorts still.

: "Your turn! Hold still and I'll get ya patched up in no time. Where's it hurtin the most? Oh, and hi Sheila!"

Leo shrugged at Efa as Grifen ran off.

"Elenore is... difficult, yes, but I think that's just her way of protecting herself. If I had to guess, she's been hurt in the past, and that's why she wears a mask and is so standoffish. She doesn't want to let anyone close. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt."

: "Working on it! Got that Leo fella fixed up so he could help out, and he's working on the rest of yer friends. How ya feeling?"

Efa replied vehemently.
:"Yeah, but even if one's masking their personality, doesn't mean they've got to be such a demanding asshole!"

"Not a hundred percent, but I've had worse. No offense, but I think I'll wait until Leo's free." Sheila gave a rogueish little wink.

"He's got magic hands, you know."

Leo put a hand on Efa's shoulder to try and calm her.

"I know. I didn't think much of her attitude at first either. But I sincerely believe that she's just misunderstood, and she might be willing to work with us a little more now that we've fought together twice. All I ask is that you give her another chance. After that, whatever opinion you form of her, I'll leave it be."

: "He does? I thought he just had a magic staff."

: "Oh, and he said he might be able to teach me to use it! That'd be nice."

As she spoke, she began mixing some different herbs together and rubbing them into some bandages. Considering that nasty poison bolt wound in Fezz's torso, a little bit of extra medicine should do wonders. She spoke to Fezz next.

: "This is gonna sting...quite a bit, actually. Sorry!" With that, she began applying the bandages.

"Yeah, what Maible said. It pays for food and a place to sleep, you know. Let's me keep looking. By the way, what do you mean about the buried buildings?"
: Yes, that is what we do for funds. But each of us is a very different person otherwise

"That I don't doubt. People aren't their profession after all, but their profession a part of them. At least that's what I'm told." Fezz first addressed Maible with a nod.

Then he turned to Shelia, actually smiling now since they're talking about a subject he rather likes. "Ruins and the like. From what I've heard a herdsmen or farmer found it while digging in their field, first thinking it was a rock to instead notice it was surprisingly a building that's been buried by time, and found a few more in their rush to dig it up. From what I heard they're actually rooms or cells or something alike from a larger building, but that they weren't full of anything valuable. The effort is half-hearted now that people think they won't get rich off of it, but I'm thinking I can probably find something good there that might say something new about the past, maybe if I'm lucky something written like an old book or ledger. If not at least it would be good experience." The man shrugged. "It's always good to explore leads, even if they don't seem to promising at the time."

His long winded explanation out of the way, he turned his attention to Grifen who had arrived. "Ah, thank you. Still a bit bashed up but nothing too serious... I think. I haven't exactly checked where that bolt hit me. That venom was not... Something I'd wish to experience again as a note." The mage looked at his presently still bloodied jacket with a hole in it, although it was sans bolt now. Fezz nodded as Grifen started to apply the bandages, and for the most part took it well. Well, rather no one could see his eyes twitching with pain.

"So you're a researcher then? That's interesting, I suppose. I don't think I'd really have the patience for it, myself."

"Actually, how do you support yourself like that? If you aren't selling old treasures, there can't be a lot of money in this sort of thing."

"Thank you, Efa. I know forgiveness is a difficult thing to give, but it means a lot to me that you're willing to try."

Grifen expertly had Fezz wrapped up like a half-baked mummy in no time.

: "Well, it don't look too serious. Just gotta get that poison outta ya, and these wrappings oughta do the trick! Just let me know right away if it starts smelling like onions."

: "Because that's a very, VERY bad sign."

: "So what's it like in them ruins? I heard tales of curses and monsters and stuff. You ever do battle against a crundle? Out-run a rolling boulder?"

"Eheh, well..." Fezz scratched the back of his head awkwardly as he searched for a way to explain.

"It's true that I don't exactly have a lot, and have kinda sorta been drifting on what I had for a while. While I can offer expertise to things historical and most general scholarly topics, I'm not exactly well known enough to really... Have... Offers." The scholar coughed slightly.

"While I have been formally trained by Alberto Scordato, a prestigious thing in and of itself, that... Doesn't entirely lead well to job offers as the prestige is more, well, infamous rather. While well known in the scholarly field, he isn't entirely well liked due to the rather, ah, prevalence of Church of the Dragon scholars who've been formally trained, while he was not. Sooo... He kinda taught me other means to get by that I'm not overly proud of at times. I mean, know enough about a field and you can kinda... Make something about it sound really special when it's rather mundane actually. ...Probably would be better to explain if I show you once I get to my trunk."

His train of thought was interrupted by Grifen's warning. "I--Yes I'll be sure to make note of that right away." He looked nervously at the bandages before taking his mind off of it to instead pay attention to the question.

"Ah, well it's not really that exciting you see. Well, not always. Most tales about ruins tend to be tombs or underground compounds filled with old magic and valuables that are guarded by strange creatures and traps, while for the most part they're usually more mundane, such as the basements of keeps or stone chapels or really any kind of sturdy building. Of course, that's not to say such doesn't exist, but they tend to be the outliers instead of the norm. For the most part it's quiet, dirty, dark, and the air thick with dust. I love it but some tend to find such settings annoying, I don't really blame them as it's not the surroundings that excites me but the potential."

For having her sit through that boring explanation, he figured he should probably give her an exciting example. A few come to mind and he shares one. "I suppose one of the more interesting traps I've ran into would be a magical repulsion field. I was exploring with my father, Alberto, going down a corridor of what we thought at the time was little more than just a basement to an alchemist given the old bottles. There was a groove on the floor that Alberto walked straight through but when I crossed it I got thrown down the hallway a few feet." Fezz rolls his shoulder at the memory. "Went straight through a crate, thankfully rotted so it wasn't that painful. Well, painful beyond being thrown a few feet in the air."
