"Are you serious? We're a pair of grown women, I think we can find a smithy by ourselves." Sheila said, clearly irritated.

@Grifeila:

"That is not my concern, miss. Get back inside, please."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"This is horseshit." Sheila fumed before heading back inside and sitting heavily near Leo. "Yo innkeep, bring me whatever you've got that's strong!"

"I've... Honestly little idea myself I'm afraid. I wasn't exactly given a crash course as to what's going on. Sorry."

"...Honestly..." The scholar paused for a moment, before cracking a smile.

"I'd choose the latter. The first sounds like I'd be bored out of my skull after about a week maybe. I've never gotten how some scholars can be comfortable being cloistered all of their lives in libraries, not when there's so much of the world to see and explore. They read the works of others and leave it at that, not go off and make their own too."

"So what's this about this fountain of innocence you were talking about? I've heard about the fountain of youth that people tend to chase after, but that's a new one to me."

[Haspen]

"Right away." He was back in a minute with a bottle of some clear liquid and a wide glass.

"Deadman's spirit. Brewed only in one place in the world and that is Kretos! Two glasses knock out both a giant and connosseur alike. Tread lightly my girl."

Leo finished the stew he had in his spoon and looked over.

"What's wrong?"

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Our gracious employer has us under guard and I can't go buy myself a new axe." Sheila growled, pouring a generous portion of the fearsome drink into the glass provided. "So I think I'm going to get a little drunk and raise a little hell right here." Heedless of the innkeeper's warning, Sheila knocked back the glass in one go. She shuddered afterward and made a face. "Ugh. They don't make this stuff for the taste, I take it..."

: "See? I thought so. We're not too different. Oh- the Fountain of Innocence is just something I read about once. He who bathes in it is destined to control Pure Magic, so long as he has a Pure Heart! I've never been much of a magic person like you magey people. It would be cool if there really WAS a magic artifact that let me shoot Beams of Love and Friendship!"

Grifen followed Sheila back into the inn a short time later, slightly hurt at being ditched so rapidly but determined not to show it.

: "Well, there's always tomorrow. I'm hoping we can find a bazaar like the ones back home; they sell everything at those, and I'm sure we could find any sort of axe you wanted."

Leo took another bite of stew.

"...Isn't it bad for you to drink on an empty stomach?"

The priest didn't know, for obvious reasons. He dipped a piece of bread in the stew and ate it.

"Is a new axe so important that it can't wait until tomorrow? We should take this opportunity to rest our weary bones and get some hot food."

"Well I wanted it tonight!" Sheila groused, pouring herself more rotgut. "Whatever. Hey Griffen, get over here, have a drink with me!" Sheila said, pulling an unattended bowl of stew close to her. She shot a look at Leo. "I take it yo're sitting out again?"

Leo sighed.

"I suppose so."

Grifen eyed the drinks warily.

: "Ain't ever had anything stronger than cider before. This stuff ain't gonna make me go blind or anything, will it?"

"That wouldn't be a very good way for this guy to draw return business, now would it?" Sheila squinted at the glass, then Grifen, then back at the glass, at which point she drank most of it. She slid the glass over to Grifen afterward, with roughly a shots worth remaining. "This stuff is a lot stronger than cider though. Take that, drink it fast, and we'll see how it's going from there."
