Fezz didn't notice Grifen until she was already healing him, apparently lost in his own world and delusions.
"Hm? Haha, ah, there's no need, I've never felt stronger in my life! This--" The medicine started kicking in.
"--strength--" The scholar couldn't finish his thought, his disposition changed rapidly to one of shock, then confusion, then transitioned into fear before finally settling on one of horror as he stared blankly at where the knight once stood. His head slowly turned to look at his hands before looking back to the knight, his face still stuck in mute horror.
"I... O-Oh dragon, wha... I didn't..." The scholar had to use a tree to steady himself as his legs threatened to give out under him. "I didn't... Mean... This isn't what I wanted..."
Fezz looked at Grifen, gone before whatever possessed him to do before and now in its place was the same scared, confused historian who openly stared with quiet desperate thanks and shame. "I'm sorry... I--Thank you. I don't know what I might of done. ...What else..." He fell silent, not able to work up the courage to look south or at Grifen. That's twice now she's saved him, and twice she's seen him... Like that. What in the hells is happening to me?

Fezz quietly moved to 14.4, his gaze glued to the ground as he quietly followed the group.

Grifen reached over and gave the distraught man a tenative pat on the shoulder. She honestly didn't know what else she could say or do at the moment to help him feel better, but figured a small gesture of comradeship couldn't hurt.

In the meanwhile, Irene moved up to one of the knights and stabbed him twice.

"And I am Leymont of Carneag, third son of Lord Theon Carneag, Templar of the Dragon. Pleasure to meet a fellow worshipper, even better, a priest of the faith." Leymont looked down at the now non-existant wounds.

Leo shifted his staff from his left hand to his right and leaned it against his shoulder. The man was wearing a Riemondian uniform, but he was apparently allying himself with the mercenaries. That was a bit unusual.

"If I may ask, do you know why this outpost was attacked?"

[Haspen]

"Well, yes... Lord Thona and few others are the hard-headed aristocrats who believe that, unlike our gracious Duke Neuthart, we should unite with Mireos again by the way of conquest. This is one of planned attacks, along the border, but if a bunch of wanderers can wreck havoc amongst Riemondian army like that, I don't believe this will ever succeed." Leymont let out a sigh.

"I have a question for you." Leymont leaned toward Leo and lowered his voice. "Do you know the name of this pink-haired beauty? Her feet move with such grace and her dancing is marvelous. She moved my heart, really."

Leo scratched his jaw nervously. Well... best to just tell him and get it out of the way.

"I believe his name is Candy. But considering earlier he apparently rated me a seven on some unknown scale, I don't think he would mind any advances you make toward him."

It wasn't Leo's place to judge, either way.

I wonder if this attempted conquest has anything to do with miss Irene's mission. She is likely either a noble or spy of Mireos... I don't know which, though, and short of arriving safely or asking her I doubt we'll find out any time soon.
