: "Yer horrible."

She turned away to look at Sheila, wondering if the poor girl would need a hug or something after this was over.

[Taricus]

: "So? The point of telling me something I already know is?"

Tacey shook her head slightly.  The impulse to protest the cavalier's insult to her strength warred with the impulse to let the enemy go right on underestimating her instead of fighting properly, along with her soldierly impulse to tell the idiot to man up and fight like a proper soldier instead of an insult to his uniform, for all that it was the uniform of the enemy. 

  "Unfortunately for you, I have a new employer.  If yeh don't want to fight us, why don't yeh stand down?" 

Setting deed to words, she leveled her lance and, with a motion of her (unspurred; Creidhne was too well-trained for her to use spurs or anything more violent than a tug of the loose reins) heels, brought her mount to a trot.  As she was about to go into a charge against the monk, a sudden movement burst out in front of her.  Creidhne didn't quite rear, but he did come to a dead stop, snapping at the interloper as he cleared the arc for her lance to drive in.  She only narrowly missed bringing it down on the person as she recognized him as the swordsman, another of the mercenary troupe.

  "Are yeh nuts?!  Yeh doan' just charge out in front of a rider like that!" 

Eyeing her options, she found none of them good; with her injuries, leaving the forest would likely be suicidal.  Grabbing a vulnerary from her pack, she applied it to Creidhne where he had been injured, counting on the attack as a lucky hit and hoping it didn't repeat.

As the shouting increased from across the road, she glanced over to see one of the soldiers arguing with two others, even as all three continued to fend off the attackers.  While an impressive display of skill, it was increasingly worrying to her, especially since her life was likely to rely on these people as long as she was on this contract.  Finally, she had enough.  Shouting over the din of combat, she directed her growing ire to the three of them.

  "Enough, the lot of yeh!  If yeh call yerself soldiers, or even mercs, fight the enemy instead of each other!  Yeh want ta fight after, then do it after, but right now, we've got bigger fish!" 

Inwardly, she was beginning to regret her hasty actions signing up with this lot.  Just gotta make it to the pay-out...

Sheila was making it a point not to look at Sara, but she couldn't keep herself from crying. After all, as awful as the lancer was, that didn't stop her from being right.

The truth hurts, after all...

[Sirus]

Grifen spoke quietly so that no-one else could hear.

: "Sheila? You okay?"

Sheila wiped at her eyes with her free hand. It didn't help much.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." She answered, her voice shaking.

[Powder Miner]

:"...Elenore. Why are you such a god-damned bitch? What the hell makes you want to insult someone like that? What the hell makes you discuss our pay and tell us what to do? What the fuck is wrong with you?! Do you have some sort of overarching insecurity? Or are you just a natural asshole?! I fucking SWEAR, if you keep it up, I'm going to beat you into the ground!"

[Sirus]

Grifen wasn't convinced, but she decided to let it drop for now. After all, the mystery horserider was right; they were kinda in the middle of a fight at the moment.

: "Okay. If ya wanna talk later though, I'm always free, got it?"

[Taricus]

: "First off Efa, it's dragon-damned. Second of all, as I said already I find it hilarious. Third of all, I'd welcome you to beat me down, but I'd rather reserve that privilege for someone who can actually hit their target.

Now, unless you have something actually resembling witty to say, I'd suggest you focus on the spiders more than me."

[Powder Miner]

:"Just you fucking WAIT..."

[Taricus]

: "Oh I'll be waiting alright. Not like I'll be going anywhere soon."

The spiders ganged upon Fezz, but ultimately it wasn't a very good idea for both of the monstrosities.

Leymont grimaced at Tacey's words.

"It's just that my father's words are in conflict with my duties. Do I fight for my country, or do I... do I fight for the fairer half of the humanity?" After a moment, Leymont shook his head.

"I honour my father more than a commander who tells me to kill civilians! To hell with von Thona!" And with this bizarre statement, he turned his horse and his lance was no longer pointing toward Tacey.

NPC: Leymont joins the group!

The mage ran into the woods and from there he sent a fireball at Sara's face.

Then, Knight C stabbed at Leo whilst the other Knight tossed a javelin at Irene.
