"I see that your studies brought you onto somewhat... violent path. Mayhaps I interest you in surrendering yourself to Imperial forces? I could ask the authorities to give you a low prison term."

Fezz's face scrunched under his hair and the buzzing feeling finally gave way to clarity. He knew this man. Vaguely. It felt like... A lifetime ago, but with a slow sort of dawning sensation he starts to recall.

The historian was silent at the offer until the silence grew unbearable. "...If this offer was given to me earlier, I would probably have accepted it happily. I'm not happy with where my life went or what I did."

"But I met my brother. I met someone who I don't deserve. I met the Emperor. And he charged me with a task, one that I know I'm not the right person for, but I still have to try." There was a solid conviction in his voice.

"I refuse to fight you. I can't fight you. But I won't let you stop us, and I won't let you harm the people I care about. This isn't the path that I wanted, but I think its the path that is needed, and... I can be okay with that in time. Please, let us pass. We only want what's right and what's needed."
