"Ah! Hallo Alec my lad! I've found a most wondrous chest that opens when you're looking at it, and then closes when you're not looking at it!"

: "Though, ho ho ho. Don't tell the young scholar, but I may have had to destroy one or two murals to reach it."

: "Huh, this place just doesn't run out of tricks, does it?"
Alec looked to his left, at the recently formed piles of rubble that no doubt formerly belonged to murals gathering on the ground.
: "Well, if it yields anything that can help us in the future, what's one or two more? Though I wish there was some way to just take them off of their walls, maybe sell them for a bit of coin." Alec seemed to hang on that last sentence for a moment.
: "Hey, old-timer. You said your name is Miguel Cervantes, right?"

: "Hmm? Ah yes of course! That is my name. Miguel Cervantes, son of the late Diego Cervantes and knight errant of Garaz!"

Alec put his hand on his chin and mumbled to himself.
: "Cervantes... Why do I feel like I've heard that name before?"
: "You wouldn't happen to know this one merchant couple that's been running out of Garaz in the last decade or so? Apparently a major magnate in the Duchy's trade lines. I think the missus of the two had Cervantes as her maiden name... But it's been a while since I last heard of them."

Miguel pondered this for a moment, before letting out a dramatic sigh.

"Well... I may know a thing or two about that."

"The woman whom you speak of is my daughter, Aldonza... Forgive me, I do not know her last name as I was never invited to the wedding. Aldonza inherited the family business from me as I had from my father. Through lawsuits. It was nasty bit of business truly, but in hindsight I can't say I really blame her."

"A... Zombie? Oh, I thought it was more severe, like another of those shades." The historian sighed with relief and hoisted himself out of the throne and towards the nomad, moving to [15,18].

"Fell down a chasm? ...Wait, was it Matilda? How?" He looked past the door but things seemed calm. "I guess the issue was settled? ...Oh, right, the stone. I'm not sure honestly, its quite peculiar. I feel... Strange when holding it. Not a good strange, I think, but nothing harmful as I can tell."

: "Right, Aldonza. That's one name that would send my mother in a rage on hearing." Alec crossed his arms, "I see... that's not the best way to have the rug swept from under them. Funny, I heard a couple stories from my parents about the business practices of Garaz, a lot about Garaz the Younger and the noble family there, but a bit about a certain man's company who had invested plenty into the Knights and military of Garaz. Coordinated much of their supply and exports, some of which my family helped ship overseas, but it changed drastically after it was passed down the family line..."
Alec stood up straighter to look at Miguel's face.
: "Don't tell me- you're the one my folks were talking about?"

: "Blast!"

Miguel sighed. Finally, after many months of travel, he could no longer keep up his dashing disguise. It was time to come clean.

: "Very well. You've flushed my hand out at last, young friend. Your intuition is correct. I am the Miguel Cervantes, past owner of the Windmill Trading Company. A woeful job indeed my dear boy."

Grifen frowned, then removed a glove and placed the back of her hand on Fezz's forehead.

: "Yeah, I said that Matilda showed up somehow and Sheila was gonna chop her head off. Fezz, ya sure that stone's a good thing to be holdin'? Ya seem a bit out of it."

: "Windmill Trading Company? Could have sworn it had a... catchier name."
: "Er- not that it isn't a great name, an astute name in fact!"
: "Though, your daughter has certainly burned some bridges since she obtained your company. Weapons or windmills, my parents were quite invested in Garaz and Masallan exports, but it was around that time that they were cut off from a large chunk of the former. I should probably know more but... never really paid attention during father's lessons." Alec lowered his arms and brushed the book at his side, "But, I've got to say- I'm impressed. Not many people in such dire straits would take up fighting. What made you pick up the horse and lance after all that?"

Miguel shrugged, clanking his armor noisily as he did..

: "Well, Windmill is just what I named the business. Back in the old days, Windmill was a fantastic name to have don't you know. The daughter could have easily changed it later though. Frankly I don't give two horse's behinds about the business is doing nowadays."

: "Ok. Well, I do care a little. After all, apparently she did start cutting ties with at least a few customers like your father."

A broad smile crossed his face.

: "Aaah yes. Why a became a knight. Of course! I became bored. That's why!"
