"And if I could ask for your input as to how we should engage the enemy, boss?" Sheila asked, looking out at the assembled force again.

:"And what if she runs away from both sides?"

"That'd make her smarter than us." Sheila said, a smile obvious in her tone.

[Taricus]

: "And what if she stays put?"

[Haspen]

Irene simply shrugged.

"Does anybody have a suggestion for how we do this? Attacking guardhouses isn't exactly a hobby of mine, I'm used to fighting on the defense."

Leo pointed out the circle of trees to the east.

"I think you, I, Maible or Fezz or Sakura, and maybe Candy or Efa should get into those trees and draw them out. We can force them to come at us and hopefully strike them down from the cover of the branches. Once we weaken them, the rest of our forces can join us and hopefully we can get through this with minimal injury to our side."

[Haspen]

Irene chuckled at Sheila.

"I take the swordsmen, you take the knights. If we pull off that feat, even men will be impressed - priests included." There might have been a giggle at the end, or maybe there wasn't.

[Taricus]

: "I can take care of the swordsmen, and I'm no slouch against the knights either. We need to deal with that ballista and the magic users quickly though, those bastards can put us down into the ground pretty easily without giving us the chance to retaliate."

A bit of smugness crept into Sheila's voice. "I don't need to impress Leo, he already knows how good I am!" Sheila took another look at the group of enemies. "Well, I'm going to see what I can do about drawing them towards us a bit."

Sheila stuck two fingers in her mouth and let out a shrill whistle. "Hey, you guys! Surrender, run, or die, pick one!" Sheila bellowed, louder than any girl her age should be able to manage.

:"Green Murder. Ha! That's a good one."

: "What should I do, ma'am? Or preacher, or...whoever, really. I ain't really sure where I'd be most helpful..."

[Haspen]

"Stay behind people and shoot the bad guys." She nodded to Grifen.

Fezz listened to the group hash out a plan as he looked over the battlefield. Okay, okay. Don't think about their armor and weapons, or their that they wouldn't hesitate to kill you while you know you will, or... Or... I'm terrible at not thinking about this. Focus! He looked closer and tried to shove down his shouting thoughts as he observed the situation, the number of soldiers they have. His mind came up blank with plans though. He's a historian, not a strategist! The most he knows about formations is old ones used in such and such conflict for crying out loud.

Turning his attention back to the group he couldn't help but agree to Leo's plan, it seemed sound. That and, as terrible as the thought was to him, might give him a lead to talk to him. Over the past few days of traveling his suspicions grew more and more convincing as time went along until now he's sure of it.

"I'm good with the plan, I'll be wherever you need me." Good, sound confident, sound like you're okay with what you're doing and entirely understand how combat works.

[Sirus]

: "Oh...sure! I think I can do that."
I get the feeling I'm going to have one very sore arm tonight...

She gave Irene a brief and somewhat-clumsy curtsey before turning to keep an eye out for bad guys.
