"Are you truly going to wait here? If yes... I... might know whom to talk with. After all, as a member of Lebrande family, I do have to help, even if that does not sit particularily well in my stomach. There are some... important persons that would be interested in, well, supporting your bid for the throne. You would have to trust me, though, and let me leave and return to the Empire." At this proposal, Charles was visibly grimacing, but said nothing.

Sheila's mouth fell open. "You're leaving? Why?"

"Wait, you're a..."

"Ah, that makes sense actually... I suppose that- Is there anything more you can tell us about these persons? It would be rather... unsettling to not know who would be supporting us." Julius left unspoken that he still had some distrust of the imperial nobility.

Looking at Charles, Ciera frowned.

"I... I don't think we'll be returning to the Duke with the blade, no. If you need to return to him, I understand. But you're a strong warrior, and you could help protect us as we try and make alliances to take the throne. I know that the Duke had plans... But we need the support of all the sides if we are to end this war with minimal bloodshed. Which includes current nobles beyond the Duke. But we would gladly welcome his support as well."

[Haspen]

@Sheila:

"There's only one reason and you know his name. I can't stand him, even if it looks differently. Besides, he can take care of you... as shown earlier. Besides - with my leg, I'm only a burden. Have you seen me join the fighting before you're done with the enemies?..."

@Others, Ciera especially:

"I merely wish to fulfill my debt to him, and I hoped that be exemplary service, I could do just that."

@Others, Julius especially:

"No, I can't provide their names. One is too important, and the other actually... has no name, so to speak. Apologies."[/quote]

Ciera nodded with a slight smile.

"I understand that. I just hope that the Duke will understand why we're doing what we're doing. We do still wish to be his ally. His support would mean a lot to us."

Sheila huffed. "It's not like you're slowing us down!  You don't have to go!" Sheila hesitated for a moment, then continued. "... If you leave, where are you going? You don't have a ship any more."

[Haspen]

@Sheila:

"I don't know, Masalla probably. I could get a job at a tavern or some such place. My leg might be lame but my spine and arms aren't. I could even carry cargo on and off the ships... You're not worried about me, are you? I will take the same path that we took to this cave. And one person is even less noticeable than whole group. I would be fine, really."

"Oh yeah, no problems going through giant spider territory alone with a bum leg." Sheila said as she rolled her eyes. "At least stalick with us until civilization proper? And, y'know, maybe instead of Masalla... Maybe you could settle in Setine?"

[Haspen]

@Sheila:

"Well... wait... oh. I... don't think it would be a good idea, after all these years."

Sheila looked down at the ground. "Oh... Well... If that's what you think... What about sticking with us until we're out of the wild?"

[Haspen]

@Sheila:

"Aren't you gonna go into Empire, though? I mean... that's even less safer place for me to roam alone. I will think this over, okay?" He leaned down and kissed his lil' girl on the forehead, first time in over five years.

"Stop thinking of me as if I was frail grandpa, dammit. I could even get you a sister if I found a nice woman, ya know." He gently elbowed Sheila with a big grin.

"I'm not treating you like a grandpa daddy, I just worry,  you know? I lost you once. Not doing that shit again."

Grifen spoke up in response to Fyra, making sure she had Julius' attention.

: "I think we can trust her. She's a member of one of those families the emperor's ghost told ya about, right? That means she's supposed to help the old guy's descendant...s. She's already helpin' out a lot by not tryin' to kill us all, like she threatened to do earlier if ya took anything from the tomb. She trusts us, at least fer now, so we should do the same."

The emperor did say her family could be trusted. Still, it pays to be prudent about these things. We do need all the help we can get, but heading in blindly could cause trouble later."
