: "Maybe that commander we met on the way here would know somethin' about where to find these folks? Or if he don't, maybe Yonn would."

Ciera blushed and stared down at the ground.

"Uh, Grifen, hate to burst your bubble, but most of the empire isn't likely to just roll over and cooperate with us, true heir and nifty sword or no. Maybe we could hit up one of the bigger market towns nearer the outskirts of the empire? Everybody needs food and supplies, after all."

[Sirus]

: "It was just an idea. I mean, even if that commander wouldn't be willing to help, ain't Yonn supposed to be on our side? I sure don't think we oughta go back to the Duke; he'd probably try to take the sword fer himself."

[Furtuka]

EARLIER

"Yes Fezz got the gist of it. Apparently I'm.. I'm. a candidate for heir to the throne now."

NOW

"As much as I had wished otherwise, with what occurred here, I question how much interest Yonn will have in helping us. Not without more leverage at the least."

"As for the Forsaken... I think I might have come across their names in some old stories I heard said to be from before the Mage Wars. But they don't really give that much information about them."

[Haspen]

"What? What, no. You're a liar. What proof you have, besides looting a tomb when our deal spoke exactly opposite!?"

[Furtuka]

Julius grabbed the sword's handle and sheath, holding them in front of this chest and tugged just enough to show half of the blade.

"Does this work?"

[Haspen]

Fyra stepped backwards, her body swaying heavily as if she was struck by a mace.

"But... you can't be... I mean... this is clearly a fake sword!"

[Sirus]

: "Huh? But he didn't have anything like that when he went in. You saw him!"

[Xanmyral]

"I can assure you its not a fake. It matches all descriptions and carvings made of it, as you probably know as well considering your family's noble task. Except for the more metaphorical ones, granted, but those are often from the more romanticized version of history." Sensing he's getting off track, the man continues. "But your disbelief isn't without grounds, you can test it if you like. Only one with the blood of Emperor Lionheart may draw it from its sheath."

[Furtuka]

Julius put the sword back in its sheath and wordlessly passed it to Grifen.

[Sirus]

Grifen looked puzzled at being chosen, but shrugged and attempted to pull the sword from its sheath.

[Haspen]

It came out effortlessly.

"WHAT?! TRICKERY!" Fyra was losing it very very quickly.

[Furtuka]

"...the fuck?"

[Sirus]

Grifen stared at the sword, eyes wide with astonishment.

: "What the fudge?"

She quickly put the sword away and passed it to Fezz.
