"You ok there Moptop? We were all worried about you. Remember what you told me when we fought against those assassins with those... those evil staffs. You need to be careful about running off on your own, alright? You're important to this group. Pretty sure if you died, Sheila would find a way to raise you from the dead just to kill you herself for being stupid so... Watch out, alright?"

Leo chuckled as if to play it off, then sighed in irritation, possibly at himself.

"Frankly I didn't expect Matilda to go straight for killing blows. I'd hoped to confuse her and get her to leave, but I suppose this is how it had to end."

"We'll have to make sure she really is dead, you know. It would be foolish of us to leave a potential enemy - especially one of the commanders of the rebellion - alive."

"Preeeety sure Sheila made sure of that. It... wasn't pretty. Though if she didn't I think Commander Fyra will. She wanted to kill Matilda as much as Sheila did. She blamed Matilda for Eul's death and... yeah."

Leo looked at Matilda.

"She looks fairly intact to me, but you're right. We'll allow Fyra to do what she will. She may have caused suffering in life, but at least her death can serve to ease the minds of a few people."

The truth was Leopoldo could be extremely judgmental and hotheaded at times; those who had been with the group long enough probably remembered his shouting matches with Elenore, and his statement that if he found her to be a source of suffering then he would turn a blind eye to her in her times of need. He, of course, regretted that in the end; she had merely been misunderstood and perhaps a bit more catty than he would have liked. While he was thinking of her, he took out the mask and looked at it, then held it in such a way that he could see Matilda's eyes through the holes.

"...That's what I thought. They did have so much in common... appearance AND personality."

He put the mask away and seemed lost in thought.

: "Watch it, Mop-top." Alec warned as he looked over Matilda from the distance, "Sorry, Commander. Seems sea-legs' vengeance had to come first"

"Hmm? What was that Alec?"

Leo came out of his reverie temporarily at hearing Alec speak to him.

Alec looked like he was about to say something, then sighed and put a hand to his head.
: "Nevermind. I would have said that I'd prefer you not mess with someone I was protecting for the better part of two years, but that's kind of a moot point now."

"I have no idea how you tolerated her for that long."

Alec shrugged.
: "It's complicated, to say the least."

Leo stared at Alec for an uncomfortably long time.

"'Complicated'?"

"For the love of the Dragon, Alec, don't tell me you actually had feelings for this... witch."

Alec shook his head, laughing derisively.
: "Pff-Hah! Get your mind out of the gutter, Mop-top." He immediately shot his glare at Leo and spoke in a more serious tone.
: "No. I had my own reasons to be looking after her."

Ciera had frozen when Leo suggested that Alec was in love with Matilda, staring at him in shock almost, but slowly relaxed as he assured the saint that that was not the case.

Miguel merely groaned unhappily. His paralyzed body left little left to do otherwise. How strange that not a single one of them chose to attack a defenseless opponent. In a strange way, it was rather noble of them!
