Julius stumbled out from the doorway when he heard the shouts. Processing what had happened he slumped against the wall in resignation.

He pressed his hand against his forehead in frustration. He'd heard his companions complaints about Matilda and the rebellion in the past, but he hadn't wanted to believe them. They'd freed Kretos for goodness sakes!

A look of surprise was stuck on his face as he felt the magic hold him, but his eyes still swiveled around and tried to keep an eye on what was going on. The historian strained against the magic, raging at being helpless as his friends are struck time and time again, stuck watching his brother slowly bleed out on the ground.
