Dashing ahead of the group, Ciera allowed Alec to get down from Mazin and nodded nervously to the commander.

"Uhm, hi. I'm glad we could help you."

Ciera to 11-5, drop Alec on 11-4

Alec nodded with a smile to Ciera as he dismounted and faced the commander.
: "Imperial Commander Fyra. I take it the church must be turning rather bold to try and raid here without your say-so."

Efa replied to Candy, walking beside him as he went up to boost the pegasus rider, who Efa didn't really look at.
:"Yeah, that... really, really could have."

Miguel moved to 16,10 and dismounted peacefully.

Such a cold and dreary place. He was rather glad not have had to spill blood.

Fezz was happy all that was finally over. Brushing his cloak quickly, the historian hurriedly moved to (13,5) where he openly stared at the tomb's walls and architecture with wonder and awe.

These were the first ruins that Grifen had ever really seen.
...they didn't seem all that interesting from outside. Maybe all the really cool stuff was inside, assuming the lady guarding the door would let them in.

(12,5), unequip crossbow.

10-5 (or 9-4, if the ground is technically aligned with my Class Skill)

Cyra brought her horse to a slow pace, savoring the sights other than the tarnished grey entities on the ground in front of her. The semblance of color to the scene brought a kind of mystic beauty, that she couldn't find in herself to explain.

@Fezz:

Fezz could see clearly that this tomb was indeed made in the style of Early Empire. Thick, large stones were used to create the front wall of the tomb, with green Sud ceramic tiles adorning it with mosaic patterns depicting geometrical figures. Lack of smooth edges and no imagery was too consistent with the period, as in the old times of warfare and cataclysms, people were more concerned with simple burial rather than exquisite decoration of every single square meter of their tomb.

The metal-framed door bore old inscriptions of the Dragon Cult, indicating numerous protective spells. There was also some fresher inscriptions and the magic felt definitely more stronger than something that was lingering here for two hundred years.

@Alec:

"That depends on my mood and intentions of your group, mister. Are with the Empire? One of our affiliates? Are you with the rebels? Are you simple gravediggers? Or a group with some other agenda? While I appreciate that you have dealt with this... rogue group led by Manna Divola, it doesn't mean I will smile and step away from the door. Who are you? Who are these people? Did you plunder my family house? Or did you steal from Imperial Archives? Answer me, and you better not lie."

Alec drummed his fingers on his crossed arms and nodded.
: "Wasn't planning it, miss Fyra."
: "We here are just a humble mercenary group looking to restore the peace in the world from this civil war. A number of independent parties are looking for ways to calm the storm. As it stands, a particularly high noble happened to understand the importance of the Crown Blade, and the potential it could have in shutting down the chaos. This noble caught wind of where it was kept, and relayed it to us to investigate if it was true. Seeing you here, I would guess it was correct."

@Alec:

"Crown Blade? It's not here. You have wrong information I am afraid. According to the Burial Inventory, only two swords were buried with the Emperor, and that was his Elzenheim, the Bane of Mages, and a simple decorative sword made for him by his own heir, Leon. Nothing called 'Crown Blade' is on the manifest."

Alec scratched his chin.
: "That so..? Are you sure that decorative blade is all that it seems to be?"

"Yes, because I know of the Crown Blade from the books. Crown Blade and the sword forged by Leon Lionheart are different swords. Unless, somehow, six different books, by six different authors, are mistaken, and I always trust the written word!"

: "Six authors, huh? Don't always go trusting all the written word, I'd want to know who these authors are before jumping to any conclusions. Specifically, if said authors are working for the same organization, say, the church that just tried to very rudely break that door down."
: "Speaking of, those church goons, did they give a hint as to what they were after? We had a run in with another group of them, seems their objective was to explicitly stop us from reaching here."

Fyra furrowed her eyebrows briefly.

"Five were written by the Church. Four of them were written after the Emperor have passed away. The earliest manuscript was written by Robert, the Imperial scribe, by the order of Emperor himself. He also wrote the Burial Manifest."

At the mention of the church 'goons', Fyra went silent for a brief moment.

"The Church has its fingers stuck deeply in the Imperial Eyes and arcane research of the Empire, and before the rebellion, they even convened with the metallurgists of the Kretos. Sometimes, me and Eul wondered if Empire rules the Church or maybe it is the other way, but of course we couldn't say so aloud."

"I may allow you to... peek inside. No plundering. And only... three people shall enter, and the rest will wait here. I recommend you take someone who can do work with lockpicks and similar devices, because I do not know of traps that may lie inside, if there are any."
