Julius advanced quietly. For some reason, something about this place was giving him an odd feeling.

"Of course, of course, I wouldn't forget this on my life! Its just up ahead, we should be getting close." Fezz ignored the 'facts and truth' of the fact that he's said this about five times already. At the noises ahead, he grew worried.

"Hm... Traps are probable. Who'd go to this trouble without laying a few traps after all?" The historian offered as he moved further north, eager to catch sight of the tomb.

Fezz moves to (14,13), peering around the corner. He took a sudden deep breath at the sight of masonry.

"So, do you think most of the traps will be in the cave, or in the finished stone areas?"

"HA! There it is! Hahaha, oh wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!" Fezz forgot himself as he lost himself in the bliss of what is the current situation, forgetting about the sound further on and whatever it might mean. It took a few moments before he was brought back to the current situation.

"Hm? Traps? Oh, oh right, traps. Both, would be my guess, although not until we get close I wager. Otherwise it would catch animals or other false positives. Keep an eye out for odd holes or discolorations. Stone grains that don't match up are other signs. Inside it'll be harder to spot however, probably more frequent. Might be a few magic traps, or more practical ones. It'll be exciting to see."

"A good portion of traps in ruins like these are often defunct, either too aged to go off or have already sprung on a mistake without anyone to reset them. Some might still be active though, and considering who this tomb is for, it would be wise to assume a good few are probably operational."

Sheila cupped her chin thoughtfully. "Hm. Well, hopefully whoever is up there is triggering most of it for us."

((Net problems are still = yes. :-\))

Cyra to All the way North!
"Traps are strange. Leaving them around would often just say 'this isn't the path we, the trapmakers or anyone we're concerned about, will take'. Unless there's some kind of indistinct marker around here which could act as a sign--usually the scenery or a rock pile. Mercenary knowledge here."

Grifen moves to (13,14).

The nomad listened intently as Fezz lectured about traps and how to detect them.

: "How uh...how dangerous do these traps tend to be?"

"I'm moving straight up--watch if any traps spring my way. They're either usually following a certain theme (like pitfalls), or similar mechanisms (pressure), or a mix-match under the idea that 'nobody will expect this'. Or that's what my mentor told me, anyway."

The group moved forth and for those who have moved, the voices were loud and comprehensible enough to understand that there was some argument between some people going. That's because...

Three charred corpses, one big and encased in a thick wrap of twisted metal, laid between a lone blue-haired Imperial and a bunch of people partially dressed in the garment of the Church. They were at a 'standoff'.

The pink-haired man, seemingly in charge, let out a hum.

"...really, Commander, tis an impressive display of magical skill, but I would rather that you surrender. After all, you officers are an asset to the imperial effort to contain the civil war, and so on."

"You and your men are welcome to try approaching me once more. Tell me, Divola, why you had to kill so many servants while raiding my family's house? Their lives-"

"Apologies, Commander, but I haven't the slightest idea what you might be referring to. Never been at your house, really. Imperial Archives had the map to this place. A place which you're stubbornly refusing to let me enter."

"It is the resting place of the Emperor! My family was tasked with protection of him, his vault and everything inside! And you refuse to even tell me WHY you seek the entry!"

"Allrighty, allrighty... the wretched one was right about this being difficult after all... Commander. Either we do it the easy way, and that means you move aside and undo the spell that you've put on the door, OR, we do it the hard way, and I get in anyway."

"..."

"FINE, be stubborn! Stupid woman. Tear her to pieces! Knock down that door!"

Ciera quietly whispered back to the rest of her companions,

"There's another Commander up there. But... wasn't Divola your last name, Candy? Is that... Is that another one of your brothers up there or something? Weren't they the ones using those... those staffs? We... we need to help someone who's fighting against people who'd use those."

Leo patted Miguel's horse, who was starting to intrude on his personal space a bit (as he was already at 14,15), and turned his attention to Ciera.

"I believe so. Regardless, it sounds like we need that woman on our side to gain entrance to the tomb. Helping her fight off these people will be something like killing two birds with one stone as the saying goes."
