Alec took a deep breath in and out.
: "..."
: "Alright, let's get this over with."

"Alright then! Hold on tight, ok?"

She pulled the taller man up onto Mazin behind her, and the pegasus jumped up into the air. Flying above the trees, they soon came to the edge of the path.

Ciera rescue Alec, canto to 19-12

"So those are the Imperials, huh? I'm glad we didn't need to fight them."

She was talking quietly to the man behind her, as they flew high above the imperials.

Alec, for his part, just tried to keep his balance while loosely holding onto Ciera, eyes closed and teeth grit.

It took a couple moments for him to respond.
: "Oh, right. Imperials, yeah, glad this didn't turn into another skirmish. Just be sure to keep a distance away, I don't think they'll appreciate an aerial scout above them."
He quickly resumed keeping his eyes shut.

"Yeah, I'm hoping they don't think I'm spying on them. Hey, here, you know you can hold on tighter if you want? Or onto the reins if that'd make you feel better? I want you to feel safe. Because you are, you know that, right?"

More moments of silence from the tall guy.
: "...No, no, I'd rather not distract you from anything, seeing as how you're pretty much my lifeline. Spending half your life on a boat tends to make you used to all the sudden shifts. It's, ah, more the distance from the ground I'm concerned with."
He didn't even open his eyes that time.

"N... no, it wouldn't be distracting. But, uhm, yeah. Hopefully we can land soon and then I can put you down. Since you're uncomfortable and all. Though... Yeah. You should fly with me more, maybe get over the fear of heights?"

Miguel moved to 22,6.

There he shook his head a little bit and sighed as he watched the troops marched south. He quietly hoped the Kretosians were losing. He tried not linger on the implications, but it was getting harder. Duke Yonn seemed to be a capable leader, but Miguel knew that if that if Kretos were to reach the capital of Garaz it would be disasterous. The extent of bad blood between the two peoples was extensive to say the least. The city would be sacked and looted. The very idea horrified him.

Julius went back in the forest to 19,8 wanting to keep an eye from afar. They met imperials! And they didn't kill them! This day was terrible!

Grifen moves to (29,7) and dismounts.
Stupid trees. At least Fezz seemed happy.

: "You sure are excited about this whole tomb thing, ain't ya? You've had a sorta spring in yer step ever since leaving the castle."

Fezz nodded when Grifen asked.

"I am indeed, and I have!" Glancing at the imperials marching away though, he didn't expand too much. "It would be hard for me not to be excited about this."

: "To be honest, I'm kinda excited too. This'll be the first time I've seen ya doin' yer archaeology thing, after all. I've been lookin' forward to it."
